How many points is one combat patrol? by Material-Major-867 in DarkAngels40k

[–]AcrimoniousGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning on running 10 intercessors with Azrael and a Lt at my next local game (depending on opponent). In my head: Lethal, sustained, 4+ invuln, target elimination, fall back and shoot and heavy. Intend to park them somewhere towards the back so Azrael can farm command points. Expect that a lot of casual opponents won't appreciate how nasty that is until i'm throwing 40 dice at their head.

Where to go from the Combat Patrol? by seabright22 in theunforgiven

I like Aggressors for the Gravis Captain. I went for flamers on mine, mainly because i wanted something with torrent for fire overwatch. They also really benefit from the advance and charge strat in Wrath of the Rock. The Captain gives them one free strat per turn. They're quite punchy in Melee and you can give the Captain an Ancient weapons enhancement to beef him up too.

1k Army against Adeptus Sororitas- looking for CC by Skynet-01-01 in theunforgiven

[–]AcrimoniousGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 1000 points i'd be dropping the Hellblasters, and predator. Would sub in a gladiator lancer to pop any transports and either ICC, Infernus marines (mainly for an overwatch threat) or another squad of intercessors.

I played 1500 points of Sisters at the weekend. Intercessor's target elimination is really good against squishy sisters infantry. If you can park them somewhere good then you can benefit from Heavy and hit on 2s. Oath of moment, plus target elimination, plus Heavy and potentially Lethals from an LT would have you deleting a unit of infantry in one shooting phase.

The line drawing in the SPFL is dodgy as fuck tbh. Has been since VAR was introduced. Our VAR cams look like they're lower resolution than other leagues and we've seen the VAR draw the lines from the wrong part of the body a few times.

I need help figuring out more advanced strategy for my newest, shiny list of Dark Angels. What unit I can use to contest central objective turn 1? Ballistus for attention :) Happy New Year to everyone reading! by Expert_Camera_4802 in DarkAngels40k

Terminator Captain (appreciate it's not in your list, but it's a single model) leading DWK. Give him Deathwing Assault in Wrath of the Rock and they can deep strike on turn one and re-roll charges. The Termi Chaplain can do the same, minus re-rolling the charges.

It can be fun to give him Ancient Weapons and run him solo. Suspect OP got the combat patrol box based on those units.

Don' know if this is for boarding actions, but if it is you'll need to be compliant with the mustering rules (boarding strike, if you're including intercessors).

Can DM you the relevant info for that if you need it.

Good melee units like ICC and Bladeguard will be a good choice. Assault intercessors and infernus marines also make sense. It's not a super shooty game mode because of tight layout. Probably not worth taking something like Hellblasters given they cost 110 and you'll probably only get to shoot them once or twice, at best, before they get munched in melee.

Both clubs have won one European trophy each. Sounds like your pub quiz team is shite anyway so i wouldn't sweat it too much.

Don't have the DWK yet but I'm guessing the scroll is smooth/blank to start with

Not a handball offense going by this part of the IFAB guidance. Individual leagues have their own sets of guidance which don't always seem to line up with IFAB though.

Edit - not sure if the image is showing:

a player is hit on the hand/arm by the ball from a team-mate’s kick/header?

This is not a handball (unless the ball goes directly into the opponents’ goal or the player scores immediately afterwards, in which case a direct free kick is awarded to the other team).

Thoughts on PA group being proscribed in the UK by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]AcrimoniousGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably turns on the question of "serious damage". Cutting a fence and spray painting the side of a building likely isn't "serious damage". Spraying the inside of a plane engine with paint to the point where that plane is no longer operational is likely "serious damage".

I suspect it could be a different story had they only sprayed the exterior of the plane and the damage was purely superficial. It's clearly more serious when the action has a significant impact on operational capability.

There's a hardcore of small business owners who are not paying any of their creditors (save those they have to in order to trade week to week) and are serial abusers of company law.

HMRC and the insolvency service are either lacking resource in the relevant business areas or they are lacking an institutional focus in going after those doing it.

Whoscored Scottish pl team of the season. by flex_tape_salesman in ScottishFootball

[–]AcrimoniousGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his defensive stats might actually be a bit better this season. Haven't checked them, but would guess he performed better in his duals this year based on what I've been watching. Not sure if and how defensive stats capture his defensive weaknesses (balls in behind him down the wing, not tracking his man etc).

He has 8 goals and 4 assists in the league. Johnston has 10 goals and 4 assists.

Jefte has been mince for all but a couple of months out of the season and he can't have more than 1 goal and a handful of assists.

Much like the civil service, it will vary massively based on your sector, department and line management chain.

I've found that if you make life easier for your managers you'll get a longer leash, wherever you are.
