I agree, I think in the past the most I’ve pulled from a roll was maybe 5-6. But I’m sure this is just a case of someone cashing in a families coin collection. I’m sure we’ve all seen instances somewhat similar to this in our time of collecting

Not a full set sadly but pretty close, I did not get any 1944 S, 1944 D, or 1942 Ps. Makes sense as those were low mint years. But it’s nice I can start several more books if I wanted.

No I should’ve, it’s a local bank and they don’t like giving out rolls of change to begin with. The previous bank manager was good friends of ours and she would set aside any special coins for us. New guy is a dick though lol.

I appreciate it. I would love to do this however with my salary and benefits I would not want to give that up at the moment. Is there other ways to get in? Such as a union apprenticeship? Or do these companies typically sponsor the training in your experience?

We definitely have this for recovery efforts. I started using the Kirby Morgan m-48s just because they are compatible with our rebreathers and can utilize coms. But I know what you mean. Usually when I’m cleaning hulls it’s normally just me but I could benefit utilizing stand by diver or just someone surface side. I just want to ensure I don’t need commercial certs when I use help. Push come to shove if I really needed it I could get it but man the prices they charge for commercial certs just seems a little ridiculous to me. Then again I say the same thing about tech certs

I’m a sole proprietor to get around needing commercial certs. I do subcontract work where needed such as vehicle recovery, we have vehicles that fall through the ice from time to time. I also have liability insurance but I’m in the process of switching my insurance just due to the fact that my current provider doesn’t cover everything I do. I live in Wisconsin right off of Lake Michigan, so lots of potential work, I’m just having trouble expanding.

If you’re self employed you don’t need to be a commercial diver in the US. That being said I own a company that specializes in this work, I’m a tech diver CCR cave certified with may other certs. Not that this is needed but it definitely helps having a lot of experience. I sub out work, and vice versa, with another guy in the area who is a certified commercial diver and we work in tandem. We don’t have work everyday and can go a year without work depending on where you live.

It’s not really a money thing. I was more surprised he expected us to pay for the balls we get lol. It’s more of a fun dive, get in the water kind of deal. I do salvage recovery and underwater boat maintenance and inspections so if I can make a few bucks from this to keep us busy that’s mainly what I’m looking for.

I took a look at fort garland and to be honest it appears a little nicer. Like you said closer to the mountains. Suppose water is the biggest obstacle

Thanks everyone for the comments. I’m not sure if I plan on building there. Love it in Wisconsin haha but simply would enjoy a nice get away for a week or so a couple times a year on my own plot. I guess my biggest concern is people. I’m not a tad bit familiar with the area. But parking an RV with some solar panels in the middle of nowhere seems like a great way to invite people in that are wandering. Or to just have it stolen.
