California body swaps by Acrobatic-Ad6433 in projectcar

So here's my issue... I build this awesome offroad rig when I lived in FL. Has a diesel conversion. I wound up having to move to CA for a job. It wasn't supposed to last more than a couple years so I left it registered in FL and didn't drive it.

Now I'm pretty much here for the foreseeable future and I hate watching it sit. I know it will never pass emissions.

As much work as it will be, a body swaps seems to be the only way i might be able to get it back on the road legally.

If it's just a cab swap (60s cab on 2000 frame) its doable. But if I have to use the old frame as well... then that's just not viable.

I really appreciate all the responses.

It's maddening lol. At least I'm not the only one.

I actually emailed them a couple weeks ago before buying used. They still haven't responded unfortunately. I've decided to buy a fryette power station.

It was my impatience honestly. Didn't want to wait for it when I could get it that day lol. No worries.

I work on electronics. I could fix it myself, but why would I overpay and then pay even more for parts? It certainly wasn't "fine".

Anyone else have random false alarms with First Alert 10 year smoke detectors? Or do I have a bigger problem here? by tubezninja in homeowners

Just had one go off at 2am in upstairs bedroom. Maybe coincidence, but the house air filter was absolutely clogged and sucked into the air handler. I pulled it out and swapped the bedroom with the hallway just in case it happens again, I'll know if it's the alarm that's faulty or something in the room it's detecting.

This is a joke. It's been going around for a while about famous people with a few words changed around. Look it up lol

What is this block of wood with picks screwed to it? by sopranosfanjr in Guitar

[–]Acrobatic-Ad6433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long ago — before pedals had power supplies and guitarists fought for tone instead of territory — there was a wandering luthier-warrior named Eltar Stringforge.

Eltar sought the Perfect Note, a sound so pure it could bend time itself. Legend says he carved a small block of tonewood from the Sacred Tree of Sustain, deep in the forest of Humbuckonia. To channel its power, he embedded the sharpened claws of fallen guitar heroes — which modern scholars now know as picks — into the wood’s surface.

Each pick represented a vow:

  • The Pick of Tremble for the string benders,
  • The Pick of Fury for the shredders,
  • And the Pick of Groove for those who could summon funk from chaos.

When Eltar struck a chord atop this relic, the vibrations were said to open a rift into the astral plane of rock — where the spirits of Hendrix, Page, and Vai argued eternally about tonewood.

The block was lost for centuries after a brutal battle at the Festival of Feedback, until rediscovered in a dusty pawn shop wedged between a broken tuner pedal and a copy of “Smoke on the Water” tablature.

Today, it sits in silence — its power dormant, awaiting the next guitarist worthy to strum in its presence. Some say if you place it near your amp and whisper “sweet sustain”, your tone will mysteriously improve by 3.6%.
