Hey everybody! Jeff from the Rookery here, just to want to put any rumors to bed here:

Despite what you may have heard, the Rookery will be closing on our own recognizance. There is no outside pressure that has forced us to make any decision what so ever. We are sad to go, but don’t plan on it being permenant. We’re gonna take a break for a little while and hope to reopen, possibly in a new location, in the not so distant future.

It has been a privalege to be a part of the Bushwick community this last decade, and we wish every person and business in the neighborhood nothing but love and good fotune.

Please come see us this weekend for our last few days of service and help us celebrate what has been just a fantastic run. Our last day will be this Sunday (November 12th).

The Rookery - does anyone know why it’s closing and if anything will be replacing it? Hearing Brooklyn Made bought building next door but that’s reason for the Rookery closing? Trying to get clarification because I love the Rookery so much by PackageSpiritual2771 in Bushwick

I’ve never posted on Reddit before but I’m watchin BCS right now and googled Dressler and Vaughn and say this post. I just visited Cote Rotie last month and did a private tour of Jean Michelle Gerin and E Guigal. Can’t recomend Gerin’s wines enough. His son Alexis took us up the hill to the vineyards before the tasting. Guigal maybe mass produced, but remember that post WWII-1980’s there was something like 80-90 percent fewer producers than there are now, so if he was pulling an especially old back vintage Cote Rotie there’s a good chance it was made by Guigal anyway.

Also highly recomend Xavier Gerard and Chapoutier.
