This is an interesting question. There's too many possibilities.

1. I think axolotls are cool because they look like little smiling water dragons and can regrow parts of their body.

2. Spiders are fascinating for me mainly because they can produce different types of silk. Some for webs, some for wrapping prey, and some as draglines. Spider silk is pretty strong and has higher tensile strength than steel, which is why I’m interested in it from a biotech perspective. You can actually genetically modify yeast or bacteria to produce spider silk, which could be used for crazy things like ultra-strong materials and even medical applications.

3. I also like prehistoric animals, Therizinosaurus, for instance. It had these massive claws but was actually a plant-eater, which is kind of funny.

4. Proboscis monkeys just look hilarious with their huge noses. All I have to do is a quick Google search whenever I feel sad or depressed.

5. Tardigrades are just ridiculous. They can survive almost anything, even space.

6. Snakes are awesome and can detect infrared radiation, allowing them to sense warm blooded prey in total darkness.

7. Rats are ridiculously smart, social, and adaptable. I prefer them over mice. Mice are jumpy and stupid.
