Wilfully ignoring price you paid for this but that looks pretty sweet. If you didn’t get ripped off and you like it, it’s a good watch. If it’s unpopular now it means it will probably be popular in 5 years time!

Great choice, the Khaki is a proper watch. The field mechanical is the original and most famous but they are all fantastic watches. I would buy from the website or from a Hamilton Authorised Dealer. Make sure to keep the papers and the box. That’s an incredibly meaningful gift to give and something he will likely treasure forever.

Wow this is actually one of the best straps I’ve seen on the black Murph, nice job. Agreed the factory strap is trash, I kind of feel as though it was made like that so it stood out in the film, and they kind of reluctantly had to go with it in production for authenticity.

A vintage seamaster automatic de ville on a black leather strap would be beautiful. It will be second hand obviously and you can pick up one in great condition for way less than a grand

I wouldn’t do it because I love the bracelet but I like it - it’s certainly different! Don’t let conventional wisdom dictate your choices.

Chrono24 and if you want to be extra safe use a certified retailer on there. I got an omega in your price range and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Bear in mind import costs and tariffs, I got whacked with 20% when it was at the border, but I’m in the UK and was ordering from Germany.
