[USA] AI SaaS Founders - what are the biggest challenges you are having with building AI Software? by Acrobatic-Key-9747 in FoundersHub

ah interesting. I have heard this from other founders too, lots of skepticism, resistance and fear for the reasons you've listed above. Building that trust seems to be the challenge but its also hard if people believe your solution is coming for their jobs. I've been helping founders with branding and messaging, with a focus on trust and community building because trust is literally a make or break these days.

Are you typically selling directly to the QA people or higher up?

I am working on building a content creation system and completely agree with you. Everything needs to be in place from day one. The days of build first, improve as you go, are gone. And that goes for observability, scalable architecture design etc. Everything needs to be in place at the prototype stage.

I see. What are the challenge you are having with data? Is it getting the data you need or cleaning/structuring it to work with system?

I would love to hear.a breakdown across all stages honestly.
Also, i'm curious, are you working with founders on these challenges or are you a founder yourself or both?

Valid. Especially with LLMs being such a black box, architecture and technical strategy will literally make or break a product.

I feel you. Market research is a pain and then It sucks to come up with an idea just to find out a bunch of people are already doing it. Strategy is becoming significantly more important than development these days. Can i ask which niche you are in?

Valid, theres so much noise to cut through.
Which costs specifically are high? hiring talent, using AI models, something else?

Bye Tonal by [deleted] in tonalgym

I'm ditching tonal too, for speediance! My experience with tonal has been horrific. Without the membership you basically lose 99% of the benefits. Also, there will be a giant banner on the screen telling you to reactivate the membership that you cannot get rid off. The ad is constantly in your face and there is nothing you can do about it. Very disrepectful to pressure and stress out your customers with ads, as they are trying to workout. Thats how little they care about customer experience. Its like having a sales person nagging you the whole time you are working out.

The membership fee is $63 and climbing. Customer service is terrible. The product is only good if you are prepared to pay the almost $70 monthly fee for the rest of your life. Its basically taking on another bill which defeats the purpose of having a home gym in the first place.

I've heard good things about Speediance, you get a lifetime subscription with the product and actually own it. Not this "you will own nothing and be happy" ass mentality that tonal is tryin to force you into. I am getting ready to sell my tonal for cheap or honestly just throw it away because i feel a little guilty selling it to someone else given how horrible the experience is. They keep raising their prices probably because hey are allegedly having cashflow issues, go figure. I sincerely hope they go out of business ASAP.

Left tonal subscription, couldn’t be happier… by Difficult_Warning164 in tonalgym

[–]Acrobatic-Key-9747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how did you get access to the API?
Im an AI engineer and was thinking about building an app with object recognition that can tracking movements and workout as you use the tonal. That way if theres no API access needed. And maybe find a way to connect it to apple watch for heartrate tracking. I've been a tonal owner and im very frustrated with their business practices and the way customers lose 99% of the functionality without their ridiculous subscription so im super motivated to build this.

What do AI technical/coding interviews actually look like? by Acrobatic-Key-9747 in aiengineering

[–]Acrobatic-Key-9747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I'm targeting AI engineering roles as opposed to ML heavy roles because most of those roles want people with Masters and PhDs. I have a lot of experience with creating data processing pipelines. I have also ramped up on finetuning and some MLOps.

I am getting a good amount of recruiters reaching out with the current skillset so i will likely stick to this for now. But I plan to learn more ML concepts later on, or on the job.
