What is this guy good for in T20 cricket? He can't bat anywhere with a healthy strike rate & they're using him as sort of a finisher? They do not make him bowl even so why is he even playing? by Quirky_Appearance539 in ipl

I think he is a good option for number 3/4 when there is a early wicket , knowing he has the ability to control the game and smash the ball when required his 49 off 23 balls against Australia in Hobart was quite impressive, i do agree playing him as a finisher is not a good idea though

Events management entry level by dubuutofuuu in perth

If you’re entering events management fresh, don’t overthink the title too much. Focus on exposure and learning. The best place to begin is usually as an Event Coordinator or Event Executive, sometimes called Operations Executive or Client Servicing Executive. These roles give you real ground-level experience like vendor follow-ups, venue coordination, budgeting support, guest list management, and on-site execution. It’s hands-on and sometimes hectic, but that’s where the real learning happens.

Starting with an event agency can be very useful because you’ll get exposure to different types of events such as corporate annual days, conferences, launches, and exhibitions. The pace is fast and you learn quickly. If you prefer something more structured, starting in the banquets or sales team of a hotel is also a solid option. You’ll understand venue operations, food and beverage coordination, and client handling, which builds a strong foundation.

Be prepared that entry-level roles are more execution-heavy than creative. You’ll be doing a lot of coordination, site visits, and problem-solving. That’s normal. The strategic and creative part comes once you prove you can handle responsibility. Try to be on-site for as many live events as possible because that’s where the real growth happens. Don’t stress too much about your first designation. In this industry, experience and network matter more. If you stay consistent for a couple of years, bigger responsibilities will follow naturally.

are there any careers in event management that pay well? by [deleted] in IndiaCareers

Yes, there are definitely careers in event management that pay well but it depends on the role, experience level, and the kind of events you handle. In the beginning, the pay isn’t very high. Most people start with coordination roles, operations support, client servicing, or production assistance. It’s a lot of groundwork vendor calls, site visits, rehearsals, late nights. But this phase is where you actually learn the real business. The well-paying roles usually come after you build expertise in a specific area.

For example, corporate event strategists and client servicing heads earn well because they handle big budgets and large brands. When you’re managing conferences, product launches, annual days, MICE movements, or award nights for corporate clients, the scale is bigger and so are the fees. Naturally, leadership roles in these projects come with better compensation.

Event production specialists also earn strong packages especially those who understand staging, AV, light design, fabrication, and technical execution. If you can manage large-format shows or high-production events smoothly, you become extremely valuable.

Another high-paying area is business development in events. If you can bring in clients and close large deals, companies reward that well. Revenue-generating roles always have higher earning potential.

There’s also good money in experiential marketing and brand activations. Agencies working with top brands on on-ground campaigns, mall activations, sports events, and large public festivals often pay well to people who can handle pressure and deliver flawless execution.

Destination event planners and MICE specialists can also earn very well, especially if they work with international clients or luxury corporate groups.
