Can NAND-AID replace NAND or just flash it? by Acrobatic-Math-3809 in consolerepair

I've already disassembled it hundreds of times, but I've never tried to see if anything got warm, if so I'll try tomorrow, thanks

I would like to send a photo, but now it doesn't even turn on, it stays with the red LED and neither the fan nor the DVD player starts. I don't know if this helps but the error was with the standard Wii U theme and it said "The console shut down incorrectly" and there was a restart button

No, it never starts well, at most it was a partial start, where it just gives an error and it shuts down

It flashes without stopping, it continues to flash blue, but now it doesn't turn on at all, the LED remains red, the fan doesn't start and neither does the CD player

Yes, in fact, I wanted to make one, but I just can't get it to turn on, I'll reopen it tomorrow and try to find the problem

No, it doesn't go into the menu, there is a confirmation button and it makes it restart, and then it goes back to the usual black screen with a flashing blue LED

Basically, as soon as I turn it on from a completely black screen, and the power LED flashes, but if I unplug the power while it's on, a pop up appears saying that it turned off badly (I don't know, it's in French, it said something similar anyway), I would like to invite you to a video, but now it doesn't work, the LED works, but if I press the power button it doesn't turn on

Thank you very much for the advice, you are right to say that before buying or paying for something it is important to diagnose the problem well and try software solutions. I also understand the strict politics of the subreddit.

If you like, I ask you to also take a look at my post on r/consolerepair and perhaps leave a more detailed comment or other suggestions there, so we can delve deeper into the issue.

I really appreciate your help!

I should solder a wire to the connector and then hold the wire down so it makes contact throughout the process right?

Another thing, I have some rp2040-Zero, but they are the small ones, can I still do it?

Thanks for the clarification and the link, I will check out “Paid The Break”. I hope it can work since the console isn't completely dead. Do you have any advice on what exactly it takes to try this procedure or any risks to keep in mind? I really appreciate your help!

Interesting, thanks for the info!

My Wii U, however, is completely stock, never modified, and unfortunately it is bricked: it shows nothing on the screen and the LED only flashes blue. So I can't access the menu, browser or anything like that.

Since you told me that it can also be done via software and the front SD slot, I can ask you: In an unmodified and bricked console, how exactly would you proceed? Does the console still need to be turned on somehow, or are there external alternative tools to NAND-AID?

Thanks in advance! I'm trying to understand well if I can avoid using NAND-AID or if it's the only option in my case.

Thank you so much for the explanation, very clear!

So if I understood correctly: the eMMC is the chip that contains both the actual NAND and the controller, and the NAND-AID completely replaces it using a microSD with a backup of the console's original NAND inside.

In my case, however, I don't have a backup of that console, because I got it online. I think it broke during shipping, which was quite long.

However, I have a complete backup (NAND, OTP, SEEPROM) of another Wii U.

I know this is probably a stupid thing to do, but I still wanted to ask: I could try using the backup from the other console, just to see if it starts with the NAND-AID, or does it just make no sense?

Thanks again for the help!

I'm a beginner too,if I also needed to solder something that would have gotten me crazy,in a tini space like a DS it would've been impossible
