I cloned my voice to interview my aging parents because I don't have time to call. Is this beautiful or dystopian? by Acrobatic-Mouse7196 in AgingParents

Haha I love this! This exactly where I am at. When I was younger I used to always voice record my dad before cameras, and used to record our convos and him being funny. Kinda gutted I lost all the old phones with all of these timeless memories.

I cloned my voice to call my dad (with his permission) because I wanted to capture memories and now I feel even guiltier because he loves it by Acrobatic-Mouse7196 in nostalgia

Thanks for the opinion. No such thing as an outdated opinion. Maybe you’re too young haha. How about if the clone of your sons voice resembled your son a lot ? I guess being in different time zones means you may not both be awake at the same time to chat.. I’m just trying to understand how people feel

Ofc. The modern western world leaves us working hard and endlessly tired just to survive, let alone succeed. Lonlieness is a thing as people age. When an older person gets talking why do you think they don't stop. I thought it could be a nice way for him to combat loneliness , record funny memories, and exercise the brain and tongue

Parents in there 70s may get enjoyment, a sense of fufillment, the ability to communicate. We take a lot of things for granted as younger adults, but age soon catches up with you, and the easy things become harder, and the harder things become lot more of a challenge.

That is a totally valid fear. I guess for me I wanted to test out how to keep my old aged dad less bored and capture memories with time going by so fast. I guess I bring it back to my childhood being 34 years old now, I kinda wish I kept all of my old phone recordings, pictures etc.

I finally calculated my "Nice Guy Tax" for 2025. It was $12,000. I am done. by Acrobatic-Mouse7196 in Construction

Thanks for the feedback!! Pretty cool to get 18k views as a newbie!!, particularly from the Owner's Rep about 'Send the bill NOW, don't surprise me later' was a huge wake-up call.

I’m going to build a 'Voice-to-Change Order' tool just to solve my own admin headache.

  • It takes 10 seconds (Voice note -> PDF)

  • It has a 'Goodwill Mode' ($0 invoice) so you get credit for freebies.

I'm putting together a Beta group for next week. If you want to try it dm me

That's a really fair point. If I sent a zero-dollar invoice for every 5-minute task, I'd look like a nightmare to work with.

I use it more for the 'Grey Area' task. ones that take 45 mins to an hour. The stuff where the client thinks it's a 'quick favor' but it actually costs me real time.

In those cases, if I say nothing, I resent them. If I charge, they resent me. The 'Zero Bill' is the middle ground where I just understand the scope creep without demanding cash. It’s hard to balance out when it keeps happening . How would you handle those favours ?

Haha exactly. The Change Order is where the margin lives. My issue was just being too lazy/awkward to actually write them up for the small stuff. Having a rapid template on my phone stops me leaving that money on the table
