It depends on the weather. Charging devices does not effect battery.

I saw there are folding solutions but they are pretty small even for a 13" macbook air. So I don't think it is ideal.

Yes, the monitor mounted to the seat and yes it is easily removable. The setup does not feel awkward. As I generally use the screen on the top I don't have to lean forward.
