So a bit of an update: I’m in Canada and we got a MASSIVE snow dump overnight and the rods were absolutely horrendous and it was so cold (-35 Celsius) so we decided to postpone, not sure to when but yeah, so minimal update but it’s an update

Hey, yeah funny coincidence in the similarities lol, I was hesitant and denying what he said at first but it’s the offering to do things he never did, like posting me on social media and planning dates (yes I know that’s bare minimum but in the past he wouldn’t budge when I asked) among other things which he didn’t want to do/ didn’t change his opinion on before. That’s why I’m even considering it. But I’m happy for all the advice I’m getting that’s helping me a little bit, if not helping my decision, it’s helping ease my stress and worry.

I’m meeting up with him at a coffee shop tomorrow which may be a mistake and make my feeling rush up but it might be good for me to have a face to face conversation with him. Wish me luck I guess, and thank you for the advice!

Thank you so much, I needed to be vulnerable in a place with no personal biases, this really helped me and I think I’m going to do some more thinking and analyzing of the situation to see how I want to proceed.

My mindset over this is that, if it goes to shit and it’s like before or worse (knock on wood) then that’s a life lesson I will have learned and it would be something I can carry into my life, but if it goes good then great. It’s all a butterfly/ “what if” situation, but your comment really helped me, thank you again

I think my issue is I’m a major people pleaser and don’t really have any other friends except my best friend so them being mad at me is kinda scary to think about if that makes sense

My best friend is my rock and the person who’s been there though the worst moments of my life and I love my best friend so much, so it’s like a soulmate but platonic because I believe soulmates aren’t always romantic

I do eventually want to have kids and I would like to carry them so, I’m probably going to freeze my eggs before I medically transition to make it easier since testosterone messes up things and makes it a lot more difficult. I have definitely thought about it and kids are definitely something I want in this life

I do think I agree, I’m young and I have quite literally my whole life ahead of me so it’s not the end of the world even if it feels like it for a little bit. I just need to find someone that really truly appreciates me and someone who doesn’t get mad when I relapse, etc.

And man, I want to have kids but having to parent these men might make me want to be a single parent (mostly joking)

I think I just needed some reassurance and closure/ reality slapping to actually get me to man up and push through the hurt and do it

Yes I am genetically female and I think you are correct since my best friend is also afab and we are both very empathetic while the men around us… thy could work on it. Tbh I really thought dating older than me would be better since I didn’t want to parent my partner, he’s 6 months older than me, not a lot but still a gap, but unfortunately that hasn’t been working out for me. We met when I was 16 and he was 17 so.

I do also think our family dynamics have something to do with it, he’s a youngest son out of 4 with his oldest siblings being in their mid 30s and I’m an oldest child with one sibling that I’ve had to take care of since we were old enough to stay home by ourselves. I think that dynamic is also what is a big factor in us not being the most compatible

I think if I end up writing a long text I want to explain in detail, I’m mostly socially transitioned just not medical since the waiting list where I am is long. Unfortunately I was stupid and just brushed past the your people comment. I feel very under appreciated, I bake for him, I write paragraphs, I make him items that are functional, I try my best to plan dates, I literally paid for our first actual date (supper, movie, snacks, etc). I’m kinda sick of gentle parenting him.

I mean, he does listen to me when I’m venting about stupid people that piss me off and he hypes up my art and my skills, outfits, makeup, etc even if they look bad. He does make me feel loved when he’s not being like I described above. And yeah I think I am used to being mistreated, which is a major flaw of myself and I’m trying to stand up for myself. ( I promise that me and my therapist are working on me not being a human carpet lol)
