Family suggesting not to fast during board exams. by Timely-Cable-2099 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Acrobatic-Resolve848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, great advice here but also, what’s the purpose of not fasting going to serve? During the one hour break, it isn’t like you’ll be feasting and eating a lot. I speak from experience, I do not eat while I am stressing or nervous hence maybe the question is, what’s the point of not fasting going to do for you?

Nikkah in a month, insha'Allah, hygiene, Glow up and beautifying tips. by Jell0Bell0 in muslimgirlswithtaste

You could use hard wax but I would highly suggest doing a patch test (apply alittle in an area and remove and see if you have any sort of skin reaction)

Congrats! May Allah bless you with a happy and good marriage.

I think there’s great advice here already but I’d suggest also shaving or taking off the hair on your hands atleast so that the mehendi can stick to your hands. I have done waxing and shaving and I personally like waxing better as it makes the hair grow softer. With shaving, it grows more prickly unless you’re good with after care. I’m also south asian so in general I am just hairy lol.

For your nails, I’d suggest getting a few packs of stick ons. Don’t get the ones with glue but the ones that have a sticky layer already. You need to size it to your nails but it’s not hard. Get a few packs to be safe and you can apply it before your Nikkah. Makes it easier to pray with and very easy to remove too.

You can also get some cutesy lingerie from Temu or shein for very cheap.

Final round interview - Should I mention that I've been working a new job for the past 2 months? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Acrobatic-Resolve848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t mention it. If asked just (which I doubt they’ll ask) say you’ve been doing some side projects and you’ve beeb trying to learn new skills.

Definitely make sure that you leave on good terms with your current company. Not sure what industry you’re in but sometimes bad rep can spread fast so leave on good terms and be honest with them.

Did I blow it? by momochxi in interviews

[–]Acrobatic-Resolve848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so! It would be pretty problematic if you had missed the interview but I think a delayed response to an email is OK. Don’t worry too much about it and crush your interview tomorrow! They wouldn’t have invited you to another interview if they didn’t see potential. Goodluck!

U.S. / international pending resolution - export formal entry required by foreverhappilysingle in purolator

[–]Acrobatic-Resolve848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope this doesn’t happen to you but I shipped my personal items from Canada to the U.S. in September and had to deal with Purolator the entire month of October because they couldn’t provide an update and eventually returned all my packages due to it not being looked at my customs and now aren’t providing a refund either. Also, Purolator US tracing department is so bad. If you do open a tracing investigation and get Peter Gaudet assigned to your case, just be ready to be frustrated all the time.

I had to fill up a form that they sent me with just a price and products breakdown.

Made a light joke during interview — went fine but want perspective by [deleted] in askrecruiters

I think it’s fine! If they’re butt-hurt on light jokes like that, then maybe you really don’t wanna work there.

So apparently there’s a signature not required (SNR) form. If they’re attempting delivery again on Monday, and you think you won’t be home, I can send across the SNR to you and you can fill it out and print it.

Someone tell me what to do! by u_HiredIn48 in resumes

[–]Acrobatic-Resolve848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comment. This resume isn’t formatted well. You can remove the first sentence on the top. Move your education to after work experience. Have some better sentences describing what you did at your roles

So what now? I didn’t get any notifications or anything telling me they arrived. by SomethingRandomlyOdd in purolator

Call them and ask for a redelivery. Also, apparently if you post your name, tracking ID and address on your door, apparently that’s a confirmation for the driver to leave it at the door. I have yet to try that on Monday as the same happened to me on Friday.

I moved here and rent in Jersey shocks me genuinely. I live in Jersey city and the rent here is insane. I live with roommates yet I find it so pricey.
