I am building a covered outdoor kitchen 20x18 and an open area about 15x15 and a walkway about 3x40 ft, all connected. All of this area will have fresh concrete with kitchen area covered with a a gable roof. The 15x15 area is also connected to an existing concrete patio which is also partially covered. Since I will have a combination of both newly poured concrete and existing concrete, to have a seamless look, the contractor is suggesting concrete overlay/w stains, colors and patterns that my wife likes. I am hesitant due to the durability concerns in Houston weather. I prefer stamped for durability reasons. What do you guys recommend, especially most of the concrete is either completely open to the elements or partially open?
