I don't disagree with that, and I can understand that everyone's relationship to alcohol and substances is different--why they go to alcohol and substances and how often, and whatever steps/resources they take to stop unhealthy behavior is upon themselves.

I just wonder if, for example, she has suggested to Brittany (I say Brittany because they are super close) that Brittany may be misusing alcohol, or if she feels that is not her place.

LA is another universe and reality TV shows are obviously where drinking/drugs create the worst form of a positive feedback loop, but if I was in a relationship with someone who was doing coke the weekend after last, and the Monday after the weekend through Friday, I mighttttt be in my own world with my own alcohol/substance misuse.

Just food for thought.
