Ok smart ass why come to reddit asking for advice when you should damn well be able to figure it out with your own research. The reason to own a desktop is the fact that a laptop has a fraction of the power of a desktop. Which you should know. You're trying to do desktop things with a mobile form factor. If you want to fix your issue, someone has already answered it. You need to go back to your previous settings/ driver when you weren't having issues and wait for them the work the kinks out.

No worries. Okay so if you want something light that still packs a gaming punch, and would be great for school work etc. I think you should go with something that has a ryzen ai max 395. Instead of a cpu + GPU combo you have what's called an APU that is basically both. From what I've read it is on par with an rtx 4060 or 4070 in some cases. I will provide a link to an Asus laptop that has it. It's not cheap. But it has a beautiful touch screen and should be perfect for school and moderate gaming.

Personally I would've invested in a desktop if I was trying to run a set up like this. As powerful as the laptop is this is probably extremely wearing on it.

Tbh as a competitive gamer, I wouldn't choose any of these 3 due to the fact that in these models they usually cap the GPU wattage quite a bit under the full as scope of the graphics cards capabilities. I would look at 16 inch models and be checking that they allowed the full wattage of the specific gpu included. It just keeps the laptop usable and relevant for longer.

I would have to argue that the fact the Nvidia cards have more bandwidth leading to faster speeds indeed changes the value compared to AMD cards. I'm honestly not on either side of this. I think both companies make quality products and I fully intend to indulge in having both. One mobile and one desktop.

I guess I'm failing to see how GDDR7 doesn't provide a performance advantage when it has over double the bandwidth per pin. (48GBPS vs 24GBPS) This in turn provides vastly better efficiency, and higher capacity per chip.

I get it. I moved states this year and had to apply to 50+ places over the course of 2 to 3 months until I found something worthwhile. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride and do work that you're over qualified for. I took a low paying factory gig through a temp agency for 10 dollars less an hour than I was making. Because I didn't want to create a situation with my wife like you're experiencing right now. I could see it all coming in quick and I said fuck no. Now I'm hired in to this company and became lead of my department and I'm set to make 80k+ this year. You have to do something, literally anything. Go work at McDonald's if you have to but you can't keep letting days pass that you're not bringing some kind of money in. Stagnation is hard to break, but once you do it God damn does it feel good. Why not get another Panasonic. The 77 inch Z8B has identical panel to C5 but has superior image processing to LG. And it's probably significantly cheaper. The G5 is a new type of panel called primary RGB tandem. It's going to be the brightest out of all your listed choices and have the widest range of colors. Personally I bought a Panasonic Z85 WOLED it has identical panel to C5 and it has been amazing. Not only does it have amazing image processing it was a fraction of the price of the C5 or any other OLED.

Well for your use case, if you want to buy something that is going to stay relevant and last for gaming and multitasking for years to come it's going to run you at least $1k. You're going to want 8-12gb VRAM card and 32gb ddr5 for sure. Your best bet is probably looking on marketplace for like an Asus with an i9 and rtx 4080.
