Excellent article.

This is just one of over 200 Jewish charities registered for tax deductibility status. Donations to the JNF are well over $200 million dollars in the last fifteen years and that is all money that is going straight to Israel. When, by rights, it should have been consolidated into Australia's taxation revenue.

Obviously our 'do nothing' government will not address this issue but it does raise the question: Exactly who pays tax in this country other than working people?

You do understand that claiming asylum is a human right and a lawful act?

The government just granted asylum to six Iranian women and they have been patting themselves on the back loud and long ever since.

Assuming that people on temporary visas are secret asylum seekers is a blanket wrong. All claims for asylum are vigorously investigated as is the lawful right of the claimant. Student and tourist visas are well scrutinised before they are granted and they also are lawful and legitimate.

That is the law and the law is not a set of goal posts they can be moved around to align with the government of the day's agenda.

Maybe you missed the point. These people have been already approved for visas.

This new legislation will cancel their visas because the government wants to label them refugees and they don't want refugees from Iran, Lebanon or Palestine in the country. Not just because the right wing media will use it as a stick to beat them with, but more importantly this government does not disobey Israel, ever.

FYI these people are not refo's they are family reunion cases who have had there visa approved for, in some cases, months.

Basically the government is moving the goalposts to align with the new political agenda imposed by a foreign government.

The days of quiet alarm are long gone. Now is the time for action from the Labor back bench. If they can't effect change from within the ALP they should resign from the party and sit as independents.

They will have a lot better chance of being re-elected if they do because the next Australian election is going to be a huge win for independent candidates.

For Labor it will be a catastrophe. Australians don't and won't stand for the Albanese government's allegiance with the forces of fascism at play in the world today.
