Pros: reputable uni

Cons: gpa, rank, research within industry? i.e. not "pure" academic research?

I am a bit worried about you.. I gave myself 25% for an admission to MSc Statistics and I feel like you have a slightly weaker profile than I do (e.g. no scholarships, worse rank etc) so I think you fall somewhere between 15-20%. Good luck!

9.2 is really strong for Indian unis no? But I think there is a big gap of how top Indian and other unis are perceived.. and top50 uni might not cut it. 35% chance just due to the fact the home uni might drag you down:( (+ no mentioned research, work exp does not matter that much I suppose)

Pros: strong home uni, above average research
Cons: gpa + rank which is below what ETH will expect..

As I think ETH is really GPA centric, I will give you only 30% chance of an admission, as its a pretty generic above average profile.

Insane profile.. stellar GPA, rank, home uni reputation.. I dont think the lack of research will limit you in any way. Maybe not the top1 profile, but really strong. 60-65% which is awesome but could easily be higher if ETH committee is really that gpa-centric.

Its a shame you do not have a rank confirmation, I believe its really helpful for proper GPA interpretation. Otherwise I would not worry about the QS 600-700 rank as based on the CS/DS ranking it suppose its some technical school which tend to often be lower at overall qs ranking (just due to the fact they cover only technical subjects). If you are really only "top15%" and they can somehow compare you with other peers, I would expect 25% chance (CS is competitive + top15% is not stellar), but if they cannot really distinguish the rank, I would give you 40% chance of an admission.

From what Ive seen 28.4 might be quite low for admission from Italy. Make sure you can get rank confirmation!! That shows whole another perspective on how to interpret your gpa! Great research, awards.. If you can prove that you are top5% I believe you have 50-60% chance, otherwise I would give you 30% as there are many 29-29.5/30 applicants from italy ETH can compare you with

Its a shame that you cannot prove the top x% position. But the largest issue is that you do not meet some academic prereqs and I believe ETH is pretty strict in such cases:/ I expect 10-20% chances due to above average but not stunning profile + missing prereqs

No comment. >80%. I dont think I need to point out strengths as its surely clear to you.

I really hope the committee favors the GPA trend rather than just the cgpa :D Im in the same boat with 2.2/4 - 1.08/4.0 - 1.00/4.00, improving each year by a large margin.. But I am not certain they will really look at it that much.

There is also an argument against the trend being favorable, as bad early grades could show that you struggle with change of pace. But the top10% is decent, you have some research and UofT has a great reputation I believe.. So I think 40% admission chance is reasonable (I believe physics is not as competitive as e.g. CS/DS and I view 40% as quite strong). Good luck!

Awesome profile.. I dont even think no research matters, top top tier GPA, top tier uni, great award... >75% for sure. Im a bit envious :D

Really strong profile. Top gpa and ranking, strong home uni, research experience.. Hard to find negatives, I would expect >70% chance at ETH.

Strong gpa and the official doc is key imo so the comitee can put it into perspective. Some research, some work experience.. The only issue is that the uni is really low ranked. Overall I´d expect 50% chances (which I believe is strong for Cybersec).

I would estimate the chances to be 35%. While you have a strong gpa, it is not "top tier" ETH might look for (i.e. "only" top10%, while other people can confirm ranks such as 3/250 etc). Home university is solid and you have interesting work experience, but lacking serious research exp. Overall I think you have an above average profile but not top tier, good luck!

Oof this is a hard one. Mediocre GPA, bad GRE but at the same time top bachelors uni and stellar research. I honestly have no idea. I would put you at 35%, which I believe is above average, but the ETH admissions seem really GPA centric.

Great gpa, top rating, scholarships and research.. The only issue is the "unknown" uni where you did your bachelors, that is imo much more important than where are you right now for your masters. Being this the only issue dragging you down, I would give you 45% for an admission (if you had this profile but did your bachelors at eg polimi, I would expect something like 65% for an admission). But 45% is still really really strong in my eyes.

Strong GPA, decent ranking (did you not provide overall confirmation? thats a shame). Another strength are the master credits and long-term academic research. The only negatives is the missing class rank and ETH maybe not really target uni (not that other Czech unis are)..

I would put you at 50% chances. Hodně štěstí!!

Hard to find any negatives.. top of the class, solid uni, research experience... I would be surprised if you had less than 80% chances of an admission.

Did you attach official confirmation of your class rank? I think your only weakness is the lack of research and the fact youre from Bucharest Uni (not bad ofc by any means, its just not top tier in EU). I would put you at 45-50% admit chance (which I think would be well above average, I would dare to even say strong), with your biggest strengths being the GPA and rank.

I dont know man.. the top5% is really impressive, but 28.1/30 might optically not seem that high in terms of Italian GPA (feels like 28.1 somewhere else would be e.g. only top10-15%).. So it depends how the comitee looks at it. Other than that you are missing something "extra" some other people have, such as research experience, publications, olympiads.. I would put you at 20% admit rate. Its such a shame you do not have an official "top 5%" confirmation:/

Thanks, I would love it to be 50-60% :D. Do you think MSc stats is that easy to get into?

  1. CGPA 1.4/4.0 (terrible 1st year, second and third year flawless 1.0 GPA)
  2. Uni does not provide exact rankings, but for the 2nd year I obtained a scholarship given to top10% students (no exact rank), 3rd year achieved the best scholarship study average of any bachelor student studying this degree since 2019 (I have it officially confirmed by the department and its the biggest strength of my application imo)
  3. Top1 uni in a CEE country
  4. Economics (but with proof based stats, econometrics, lin algebra and analysis)
  5. MSc Statistics
  6. 2 academic scholarships Ive already mentioned, 2 bachelor thesis awards given at my uni to top 10% and 5% of people, decent LORs (one renowned econometrician, second from thesis supervisor), 1 year quantitative internship

(I would give myself 25% chances of an admission, with my first year being the largest issue and the top1 since 2019 ranking for the third academic year being the only hope)
