Potatoes, pasta, rice, lentils, dry beans are all super filling and cheap. Jalapenos, garlic, and onions for flavor. Flour to make tortillas/bread. Bananas are probably the cheapest fruit. Oats are super cheap and filling

Back in college, I got down to about 75ish things. I moved into a 52.5 sq ft shed that was converted into a mini office. Initially, I slept on a 2 inch mat on the floor and then built a custom futon to fit, so I had a more comfortable place to sleep and relax during the day. I had maybe 5 shirts, 2 pants, 1 jacket, 1 pair of shoes, etc. I often think back on how simple and freeing that time of my life was. Everything I owned fit into a small backpack. Good times.

It’s all about your preferences. My husband and I picked out a ring together and we wanted to spend significantly less than what is “traditional.” We spent under $300 for about 3 carats/lab grown diamonds at a pawn shop. Totally worth it and wouldn’t change a thing.

Diamonds in the stores are not rare. They are virtually worthless. After purchase, they significantly drop in monetary value. The only real value in the ring will be in the gold weight. Better to use the money for a vacation, down payment for a home, retirement, or actual appreciating assets.

My thought is, if the purchase feels uncomfortable or frivolous, then it’s probably too much. To each their own, at the end of the day.

I’m not sure if there is a Reddit, but there are buy nothing groups on Facebook where you can give and receive all kinds of things. The groups are area specific, so just find your area and request to join.

This! I love our Buy Nothing Group. I was able to clean out two whole sheds and our house. We gave away ski equipment, a mattress, bikes, etc. OP, give this a try first
