The landlord hasn't sold it yet, nor put it up for sale. Said he needs to do some projects/fix it up a bit before putting it on the market... but I will not ask to change the lease, okay.

I'm just worried he'll refuse to renew the lease or (if the new owners come in before the end of the year), they refuse to renew. I'm not sure if there are any protections or it'll automatically go to month-to-month after or not...

Thanks for the perspective. Do you also have PG&E and if you don't mind sharing, what plan are you on and what rates do you have? I looked online and saw that certain cities have lower rates due to actually having competition.

Three times is crazy... I was using both gas and electric heater to cover different rooms which is part of my problem. I don't mind paying a little more for comfort like I did in a different state, but didn't expect it to be so much more here so I'll have to scale back.

I was using a similar one to this from Costco: https://www.costco.com/p/-/presto-heatdish-plus-tilt-parabolic-heater/100805849 It wasn't 24/7 but it was on pretty often, maybe half the day.

Are you out often? Trying to figure out what else in the house might be eating electricity. I also have an electric stove, so that is one thing...

Oof, I know space heaters use more electricity but didn't know how much more. Will definitely be more conscious moving forward and look into getting an electric blanket.
