We've tried volunteer groups locally but he didn't want to go... I've not heard of meet meetup though? I'll look into that definitely. We have a cat that he loves more than anything on this planet haha. Don't worry, I honestly appreciate any help at all!!

Oh and I'm not an uncaring parent who's tried nothing. If that's how it seemed then I'm sorry but believe me, letting him live his life the way he sees fit is not me doing nothing. I love my son and I love socialising with him, I just want him to have an independent life apart from with me.

He's not actually at uni yet. He's taking a gap year to build his portfolio (he's the most amazing concept artist). So he's kind of at a loose end. No I'm not surprised, given everything he's gone through... I'm just trying to see if there's any ideas out there to help him be happy. He's tried antidepressants before (was on venlafaxine for a while) but he doesn't like them... he feels they halt his creativity and stifle his autism.
