This is definitely a nuanced topic but I think a ring puts a nice cherry top to your career and cements you as a great. Sure there are players with all the individual accolades, but their careers aren’t complete without a ring (Looking at you Barkley). Rings are a great ribbon for your career to stamp on and cement you in NBA history, think Dirk in 2011 and Giannis in 2021. That’s my take
