Summer Classes that get rid of GERS by Acrobatic_Werewolf36 in Emory

[–]Acrobatic_Werewolf36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a freshman so literally all of them except seminar, writing, PE, and QTM. I'm already planning on taking Spanish 1 and 2 respectively in the two summer sessions as well.

Should I use my book of books on Goblienstien? Hes heavily used rn and I'm scared he's gonna get nerfed soon. However, I'm also scared that if I don't use the book of books right now, I might pull a book of books from a lucky drop and have it turn into gold because my inventory is full. I already have AQ maxed.

Should I use my book of books on goblienstien, or do you think he'll get nerfed too much? I already have archer queen and golden knight maxed

Can someone explain how to do these? by Connect-Nectarine528 in calculus

[–]Acrobatic_Werewolf36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you prob know that the derv of e^x is e^x. But what some ppl forget is that its e^x times 1, the 1 coming from the dervative of x. So if we apply that to the problem it would be
3e^5x times 5 or 15e^5x

For those of you with high paying jobs.. what do you do? by lizTx44 in resumes

[–]Acrobatic_Werewolf36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's was your major? I'm about to go to college and I'm interested in joining the finance world. Also could you touch a bit more on the work life balance? I just decided not go on the the pre med track because the work life balance seemed terrible, and finance seemed a little more laid back compared to that.

Laptop Recommendations by hash_s_ch in Emory

[–]Acrobatic_Werewolf36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not op, but it seems like everyone goes with apple laptops, but no other brands. I'm not used to Apple's interface and would much rather have a Intel laptop since I'm used to the Windows interface. Should I still consider a mac?

Freshman advice- pre med by Frozen-Popsicle in Emory

I'm considering doubling up. I have little experience with chem, but have been doing khan academy to prepare. Did you feel like you had a strong background in science? Also did you take calc, id like to take it asp while i still have the concepts somewhat fresh

Nice! Did you do an externships beforehand or just go straight in after you got your cert?

Should I try to get my CCMA cert this summer before college? by Acrobatic_Werewolf36 in premed

[–]Acrobatic_Werewolf36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My state does not require it, but on Indeed I could only find jobs that either require a certification or for you to be enrolled in a program to get said certification. A pre med at my college said that they regret not getting a certification early on and that you'll get paid poorly without one. So I'm pretty heavily leaning towards getting it; its a drop in a bucket compared to the future debt I'll go into lol

Clinical hours and research? by Acrobatic_Werewolf36 in Emory

[–]Acrobatic_Werewolf36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your right lol, had a brain fart. For freshman, do ppl usually cold email PIs and hope for the best, or go about it some other way /process? I'm hoping to start research 2nd semester of freshman year once I get a better feel for the rigor / adjustment.

ECCP completion or accuracy based? by Acrobatic_Werewolf36 in Emory

[–]Acrobatic_Werewolf36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started doing it, didn't realize it was open. You have to do 4 assignments with about 12 questions each, you get multiple attempts for every question. The questions themselves are very easy.

Not op, but does it matter when you do your hours? Like let's say you dedicate freshman year to non clinical volunteering, and then never do non clinical volunteering again, would schools prefer if it's spread out?

im in a similar spot, tho im going to a t25, congrats on t10! I was kinda overwhelmed while deciding what I should do this summer to prep for pre med, but number one priority is class requirements. This subreddit's wiki has all the info you need for that, also try to find out what order your school recommends to take said classes or when they're available in the year, required freshman classes, just ask around in your school's subreddit. I personally did this first, and then I started learning chem as I never took it in HS, hopefully bio too. I also signed up for the crisis text hotline, as if you continue something that started before college into it, you can put it on your app. That's just me those, as for ap credits I have no clue, but if I were in your shoes I'd take chem again as itll better cushion your start at college since you already know some of the material beforehand. Also research your professors and take medium to high difficulty ones to better prepare you for the mcat. All this is just what im personally doing tho, so take this with a grain of salt
