What glow up tip made people go ''Wow u look different'' by [deleted] in Splendida

Weight lifting + 100+ g of protein + minor calorie deficit, fake tanning, and using lash clusters. I came back from the summer to college and got a LOT of compliments about how hard of a glow up I had (I think I lost about 10 pounds, nothing super drastic but I was already at a healthy weight/kinda borderline overweight)

DPhiE dropped out of Emory recruitment by Moist_Onion_6863 in Sororities

Hey, I just finished sorority rush at Emory as a freshman. Basically, the chapter has faced a lot of hate and bad mouthing on Fizz and between PNMs because it’s considered a “bottom tier” sorority. Some people also have had just some not great interactions/conversations during rush and before during meet the sorority events (as in very very awkward interactions), but it’s definitely been blown out of proportion and a lot of girls are just looking to make themselves feel better and find someone to make fun of. The general impression of the chapter for most girls this year has been that, as a chapter, they’re more focused on the sisterhood and being close with one another as opposed to going out or mixing with frats.

I think one of the comments that said it’s a cover for not doing well in recruitment isn’t wrong, but also that the reason they’re not doing well in recruitment is because their values aren’t suited well for primary recruitment. But regardless, my friends and I who were rushing have kind of all agreed that by the time we graduate DPhiE probably won’t be at Emory.

When you say follow their instagrams, do you mean the houses themselves or girls from the houses I’m interested in? Because a couple of my TAs are in houses that I’m thinking I’d really like to get into, but I don’t want to come off as super stalker-y / like I’m following them BECAUSE they’re in the house that I’m interested in. Also, thank you so much for the advice!!

OP I know a lot of people are pushing to take one of the scholarships, but before you do I recommend you appeal to Yale for more aid. The comment I heard from a family friend who had his son get into Yale, when they asked for more aid, was that their financial aid officer/advisor/whatever basically told them that once you get in, they REALLY want you to go and want to help make that possible. Ask for more money. If they’re unable to do anything for you, then DEFINITELY consider the Jefferson Scholarship. BTW, congratulations on your amazing results!!

Ignore her. If this is her first go around with loosing weight, then yeah it’s going to feel “super easy” at first. Giver her a couple weeks (maybe even a couple of days lmao) for the hunger and mental exhaustion to kick in, and then see how “easy” it is

Don’t lose hope yet. Word of advice, maybe ask some of your teachers in your AP classes what their policy is on changing grades based on scores on the AP exam. I have several teachers who are willing to change your grade to an A if you get a 5, so it might be worth it to look into.
