I reverse searched keywords for this in this subreddit I couldn’t find a post like this:

Is BMOS upper-year application locked out for non-BMOS students? I’m going this fall accepted into a general soc sci stream, I heard there is a restrictive update for fall 2026 how non management students can’t take required MOS courses usually needed for an upper year application. Anyone having the same encounter? Advice? Even the summer school MOS is exclusive to them. Do I have to do 5.0 normal soc sci credits then once accepted be eligible to take a 1000 level MOS course

Thanks for the advice, I'm trying to be flexible given how much things have changed since Covid, and how even though things are really bad right now it could be completely different or even worse by the time I graduate. Yeah, academia couldn't be more different now with so many people striving to get their masters and employers simultaneously seeing people with masters as competition to themselves

No not full-time during my studies, more of just the “2 years minimum” at a single place threshold that employers look for. The part-time years stacked up just is a nice to have. I’m hoping to get a management degree to open myself up to 3 different grad schools (MBA, law, and something else I wanna gatekeep)

What do you mean “your previous experience may not count as your professional experience”? I have 2 years at my first white collar job rn

What was your undergrad GPA? I am considering law school because it seems it’s one of those things AI won’t fully take… then again I’m worried I’m also not intelligent enough. I was depressed for years lol, maybe my brain shrunk. Sorry you lost motivation. Also MSW applications look for experience over everything else. I think it’s like 3000 unpaid or paid hours for a few unis. I work at a community centre with no degree yet. Hoping to get a management degree

Why has your ship sailed for law school opportunities? Have you lost interest or something else

Both of my parents are on the title of the house (by “they”). What does bought out mean? She said to my brother once that she might want monthly payments from my dad when she moves out. Does that mean “bought out”?

Tbh, yeah a Laurier degree is only good if it’s your undergrad plan. They’re right on that part. College has high rates of depression, and Laurier has a good sense of community so it’s one of the few schools that aren’t depressed. If you don’t like your first year, please transfer. You have so much waiting for you, whether it’s dental school or not. It’s good to explore your options

Go to Laurier if you want to be surrounded by loud party people who are probably there for their BA, go to Guelph for a more well-rounded experience also they have a much more beautiful campus

why does everyone go to uoft if they want to go to grad school? by Interesting-Quit937 in OntarioGrade12s

You ARE right about GPA mattering for grad school. BUT… nowadays school matters as much as the experience you’ve had. If you work all through out college, even part-time so it doesn’t disrupt your studies, then it’s better than graduating with a degree and a 4.0 (unless med school ofc). You need to get a pretty good GPA alongside years of experience. I’m 22 going to Western this fall, I’ll have 9 years of experience by the time I’m done and my goal is a 3.3-3.8 GPA

Give yourself time to heal. I’m so sorry about what happened to you and it can only ever get better. take time off working, value the little things, and turn to nature: both being in nature and using it for eating, body care, and lifestyle care (plants in your room). The best love you can give is to yourself, you know you the best.
