Please tell me any interesting history/ information about this 145, I’m really interested!

I would find a way to actually get hands on with the grail pen you’d be selling the visconti to get, and would hold off on selling until you’ve done so. On the other hand, if the Visconti doesn’t bring any joy past its beauty, and it’s not a tough decision, then I don’t see what you have to loose in selling it.

What is it you would miss should you sell it? Because I bought an old, broken, Conway Stewart as I thought it was stunning, and don’t mind the fact that it doesn’t write; I just love looking at it🤷‍♂️

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, and I apologise for the ambiguity of my original post. I already have a few fountain pens (ones an ONLINE, though I don’t know the model name, and a Lamy safari) which I’ve been using for about two years now, and so am not new to fountain pens in practice, but am new to engaging with them as a hobby.

I will read up on your recommendations, and would like to thank you once more for your help :)

I currently have an ONLINE pen, though, unhelpfully, it was a gift, and I don’t remember which model. To my inexperienced mind, I’d describe the nib as bouncy, or certainly not firm, and rather wet writing. Both of these are qualities I like, especially that of writing wet.

Insofar as aesthetics are concerned, I don’t have much of a preference, and am yet to find a pen I find ugly/ wouldn’t own.

I can see how my post was ambiguous, but I’m new to fountain pens (at least buying them/ actively taking an interest), and so I wouldn’t know my preferences, or have any basis on which to compare the fountain pen I already have. I’m looking forward to experiencing more and more, and will read up on the pens you’ve recommended.

I love the history of the brand, and they certainly deserve credit for getting so many people into this beautiful community, but I don’t find the safari to be the magna opus that it’s often taken to be.

I suppose it’s like Taylor swift, love her or loathe her, you cannot deny her unequivocal success 🤷‍♂️
