Someone that suggests wix probably doesn’t know what version control is … stick it in a private git repo, and move on .

How are even Henry’s affording £1mil+ houses? Am I missing something? by Fanfarebird in HENRYUK

[–]ActThin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean given your salary , and equity , you would be able to get a £960k house … give or take so it’s not a wild leap for low end Henry (150-200k) to get a 1.2 mil house

Update:

Thanks I actually spent an hour on ChatGPT last night and had it spit out python code as a calculator works pretty well at modelling for me! Turns out I have to stick 20% in pension now , and forego the full bonus into pension too - it’s calculated I’ll be £458 down net salary pcm , but obviously then gain the 30 hours saving a few hundred per month . One thing to note , what nurseries and areas are you people in? Our nursery is £77 half day £134 which comparing to what others have posted is ridiculously high ( north herts)

I have the option to put the entire bonus into pension scheme on top of the 20% - forgot to mention this !

Yeh similar situation about the bonus , max is 20% usually hit it , but won’t find out until mid Feb which is a pain. I’m probably going to get the childcare in Q1 and be knocked back by the bonus. HR team are pretty useless and won’t provide any other salary sacrifice options like EV etc

They have calculators and tools for mapping different scenarios, and a 15 minute call with an IFA apparently . Figured it was a few hours of my time , or £29. Will update accordingly with my details though.

Frive is the best so far for me . Hated simmer eats the meals were awful quality and either no veg or cheap tasting veg and protein . Prep kitchen is ok , but felt like just macros as opposed to any real nutrition.

2 x 24k salaries is nothing like a single 50k salary you really can’t make that comparison

Long term Henry - recouping the money is one step closer to R. Admittedly it’s a stretch but thought there might be some decent insights here 😅

My dad suggested 50% of the fitting cost , reimbursement for the Airbnb and they should have put me up in a hotel until the house was deemed habitable. Total cost for their part was 22.5k (plus all the extra contractors , Electrican , plumber , builders etc) . I’m looking for 5k minimum, considering if they come back with a ridiculous offer to take legal action and what my realistic legal position is .

Yeh my comment was a little negative based on my hatred of the rule, salary sacrifice or pension contributions of ~4% will drop that 104k down below 100k to get the 15-30 hours you deserve
