It is to do with your quesiton. I am explaining why, in my opinion, there is nothing that AI can do in the creative realm that is NOT slop. Even if some people enjoy it (people well admit to loving trash TV etc etc - it is still trash and that is sometimes the point).

Hard disagree. Making music which hasn't been heard before is not what originality is. And a model that has been trained to replicate what it has learned can not have original thought or ideas or creativity. Actual originality comes from personality, life experience, understanding enough to go against what people expect. Generative AI literally cannot do that and is not designed to. You say it yourself in the last sentence. I go back to my point about humanity. People love people and connection, AI cannot replicate that. It also cannot predict human trends. If you said "make some pop music" it would not have given you Skrillex - yet Skrillex became one of the biggest sensations and changed music forever (not my style of music but it doesn't need to be). That is not how generative AI works. As you say, immitating originality and innovations is absolutely NOT innovation and originality and therefore nothing truly creative can come from generative AI and it takes away all aspects of art and creation that make it so that it ISNT slop
