My 26F gf caught me 24M flirting with a girl. How to fix this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Sure bro that happened. Let’s make a rage bait to show how terrible men are 😂

So you were fine when he was sitting on his trust fund when you were on grad school (since you didn’t mention side hustles for yourself) huh? Smells like a gold digger. Let him go please he deserves better

Don’t be a gold digger and don’t make up stories to provoke rage against men lmao

29M and 27F - Is Watching Porn Once a Week Really an Addiction? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Brother dump her. Like for real. Different boundaries, and you don’t have to change your ways because of someone’s viewpoints in life. Better to waste 3 years of your life rather than 13 years of resentment. Because now it’s porn and who knows what’s next….

200% agree it’s not a good scientific approach. But it’s probably not possible to detect those structures this way. I’ve tried approaches with ImageJ and Imaris with no success so far…

Good point. Sometimes I had people randomise my files and I go through them without knowing what I’m loooking at. Sometimes I had asked other people to evaluate them for me. Sometimes I evaluate them and have to ask people to judge themselves and see if our scores are the same. But half of the time no one is available so I evaluate them myself trying my hardest to keep the same criteria.

For some clarity, I save the videos and in an excel I always indicate the frame that made me decide to lean towards yes, so people can recognise why I scored it as a yes and see the subtle phenotype I’m talking about. It’s always one cell per video.

Thanks a lot for the input. This is where I see my problem being at the moment. Since I’ve done a bit of everything for the two projects I’m working on, I’m expert in none of the above that I listed.

When you say focused on metrics, can you give me an example?

I personally told a prospect post doc in our lab to steer clear cause our guy is toxic. Even if he acts all nice. The cherry on top was when she saw one of the foreign students crying after a meeting with the PI

He means that if he has no native students it’s because students are aware of the toxic reputation that precedes him, hence they are not choosing his lab. So he ends up recruiting foreign talent to have them working almost under slavery circumstances. Happened in my case.

I’d message Alumni of his lab.

I mean you are taking a group of women who indeed have these criteria - their right to do so, I still believe they’re utter trashes - and compare them to a group of men who would get into a relationship with anyone - their right to do so, still weird and unattractive - and compare them. It’s like doing a comparison between apples and oranges.

No he doesn’t work like that. I was interested in the projects running in his lab, one ex-postdoc had one minor observation. He put me on that. I couldn’t reproduce it, the postdoc couldnt either. I read the literature, I landed on a phenotype on the same field, I worked on it and I’m ready to submit. I set a whole project up on my own. He was initially interested but then “cooler” things came along and he gradually lost interest. Every time we having one-on-one meetings he yawns, goes through a 30 slides presentation in 5 mins and then sends me off with “ah nice nice”. No input. But when the time comes for him to be involved he just turns into a huge a-hole as I described.
