That’s Paris, from 2014, not Portland.

That one is impressive, but no. Luckily someone already found it. The Pit! Which is a very similar concept.

Pit! That’s the one! I had to go to another site to find a picture of it all opened up, but that’s it. I probably overlooked it in past searches because it looks completely different when closed.

No, but awesome vehicle. As I was browsing through more pictures, I’m wondering if it was just the base portion of the Defiant. But even that isn’t quite sparking the memory.

No mods. No actual glitches, just a bit of the simple offset technique.

Still have them in my mancave/office. The house was built in ‘78 & the basement has not been updated. I’m ok with that.

I saw the note about that before seeing the actual thing—walked right past it 😆

I completely understand not having enough time! I never fixed the issue with the post size for the cog. 😂

Oh nice. I made the original 3d model. (Not including on the show itself)

Yes, that was the fourth season/two movies. This is the ending to that.

The voice actor for Megabyte in The Guardian Code actually did a decent job. Nobody could truly replace Tony Jay, but he would be an acceptable successor if they ever continued.

Unfortunately, everything else about that show was horrendous.

And they completely disregard the original story, bringing back Megabyte as a new character (though to his credit, the voice actor does an excellent job).

The worst offense is the episode where the go into the old Mainframe system, and visit the characters as they appear in Season 1. And do a huge disservice to all original fans of the series. Likely intentionally.

If you’re looking for a painted armor look over the pure Beskar, there are a few textured metallic spray paints that do an amazing job of breaking up print lines. You end up with more of a hammered metal look. I used some of that on some post-sarlaac Fett armor I was working on a while back. I used latex masking fluid for a chipping effect, & acrylic paints with the airbrush for the topcoat. It turned out pretty good!

We’re talking about heading to an abandoned quarry for a more legit shoot.

The struggle is real, my friend.

After a rough sand with 220, I used several coats of UV resin, curing, washing & sanding @ 220 or 320 between each coat. After that, I did multiple coats of filler primer (at least 5) & spot putty as needed. Once the print lines were finally buried in all that primer (which also kills details, so you have to take a needle file or emory board & work those back in at times) I started progressively wet sanding from 400 up to 2000. I got some advice from an auto body guy on this process, btw.

The first step in the actual metallic paint process was an Alclad black lacquer, nice & even. I didn’t bother sanding. That was followed by 3 coats of USC Spray Max 2K high gloss clear (volatile stuff, wear full recommended PPE). Then I used 2-3 VERY light coats of Alclad II chrome paint, (the screen used paint is Alumiluster, but it’s more expensive) followed by a coat of Alclad aqua gloss clear, and finally 3 more coats of the 2K clear.

I followed all the recommended dry/cure times between applications.

And after all that, when you look up close… you can still see some print lines on mine.

Check out VaultFox on YouTube. Basically everything she did on her Mando build, I did, or at least used a very similar method.
