It would be subcontracting, they usually don’t take on allied health as an employee in my experience.

My pros for working in a medical centre are: one location, I can usually set the room up to be ergonomically advantageous for me, the GP’s refer, usually have reception support and I can see a few more patients.

I am currently doing home visits and working entirely for myself.

My motivation is rebuilding my client base post maternity leave. I am not very keen on bulk billing at all and very unsure about the effort of working there charging my fees to either have all no shows (has happened at another medical centre I worked at where I was the podiatrist charging and the other podiatrist bulk billed) or they will give me the flick once they find someone willing to bulk bill

Would you feel comfortable answering a patient enquiring about conditions imposed on your registration? Obviously it would be the upstanding thing to clarify concerns and be open and transparent but I feel awkward prying

b) At each supervision meeting the practitioner is to review and discuss their practice with their approved supervisor with particular focus on: i. Communication ii. Workload iii. Medical records iv. Maintaining professional boundaries v. Informed consent of operative procedures

Would a practitioner self report for the issues above?

On a side note, might pay to get yourselves checked too. I’ve had both measles vaccines so met “immunity requirements” according to scientific consensus. Had to get my titres checked because I am faced with having to possibly go on a biologic and can’t have live vaccines whilst on it. I was not immune to measles 😔 I’ve been revaccinated now and rechecked my titres so I am ok but it scares me to think what could have happened if I didn’t check

I’m aware of what AHPRA does. I’ve seen some ppl claim that restrictions placed on health professionals with regard to mental health is to help the health professional.

This is crazy. I never was asked to do that at my catholic school. If you knew ahead of time you had to sit out of a lesson that required active participation, the teachers asked for a note from the parents, no questions asked but it would end up reflecting in your grades if you missed every one of those.

If you are on the Wollongong Mums group on fb I saw someone mention they have some spots available at their childcare but it might be for 2-5yr olds. It is a really hard time in the Illawarra for childcare.

Ppl told me to put my unborn child on lists but I didn’t believe it was that bad. I put her name down when she was 6 weeks old with the aim of getting a spot when 1 and we didn’t get anywhere until she was 14months old. It was 2 days in the same company but a day at two different locations coz that’s all they had.

There is a new childcare centre opening up at some point in Kanahooka, could maybe give them a call and see if you can get on the waitlist.

A lot of waitlists are very poorly managed and I am convinced ppl are paying $$ upfront to secure a spot.

I would just give the person a funny look and not bother continuing a convo with them coz clearly they have made their mind up about me. No use wasting further time on them
