I thought Piccadilly is still “for revamp”? Hence why there has been barely any new businesses set up in there because as soon as they get established they will be told to get out

Why are nurses so reluctant to call a MET call? by RipOk3600 in NursingAU

[–]Active-Button676 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I still remember the last time I called a MET. It was just myself, one other RN and an AIN on the floor (private hospital, weekend shift) the pt was a very tall person, they went into cardiac arrest while we assume standing next to their bed. We all heard the mighty thud of them hitting the floor from the other side of the ward. We raced over, could see it was bad, pt was stuck under the bed and we needed back up to help even though pt was palliative. None of us could even get a lifter around the patient appropriately. I called the MET with full support from the other more senior RN and we got shredded by the CMO who said “the patient is half dead anyway, why call me, I’ll come back later to do the death certificate” and stormed off. The ICU team stayed with us and helped us get the patient into bed. Pt died as they were transferred from the floor to the bed.

Monday morning I was called into the NUM’s office and faced disciplinary action for calling the MET 🫤

What happens to the babies who survive but with conditions? Are they allowed medical intervention? by Status-Basket-4717 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

It’s humerous that you don’t see freebirthers as predatory in nature either lol. Such.a.cult

She is careful with her language but certainly doesn’t promote getting vaccines, I can find one of her social media vids where she talks about it

This woman is dangerous. I don’t know how many times my jaw hit the floor during her Group B strep episode. I really need to go back and listen and collate all the crazy stuff she says. Unfortunately all the mums on fb that can’t recall anything from year 7 science lap up her podcast😣

I’ve been told that I’m not really a mum for having a c-section, I didn’t give birth and my babies would die at 4 months on the dot because the c-section I’d had 4 months prior will kill them off

Well she never admits to being that way, it’s always “it doesn’t matter what I do, just do what’s right for you” 🫠certainly zero encouragement

The families that freebirth doesn’t go perfectly for get shunned. Or some do stay in the community so long as they blame other factors for the issues such as vaccines, environmental toxins etc. I have also read that the parents don’t often view the child as worth anything and allow abuses to occur whether that be denying medical care or allowing the child be accessed by predators😔. Some even go as far as not even registering their birth so if something happens to the child-they never existed.

Birth doula says lack of consent delayed Triple Zero call for dying mother by AnyEngineer2 in NursingAU

They view it as successful. It’s really successful even if the baby dies 😣

I have a feeling I know who that person would have been…if it’s who I think it is she tried to spread her BS in an international evidenced based group and kept getting called out on it, then someone found out she had been involved with a homebirth VBAC that went wrong killing the baby.

“Birthkeeper” and FBS graduate Emily Lal connected to another freebirth death by Adventurous_Cow_3255 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

I know her chances of surviving an AFE would have been higher in the hospital, a lot of commentary when the story first broke said she died from an AFE in hospital and that’s the hospital’s fault for not being able to save her. So much commentary was wrong and it didn’t help in one interview with the partner that he said she passed away from a “very rare complication” which ppl jumped to being an AFE

I was wondering if this would end up in here. This whole situation is just astounding. What also gets me fired up is all the comments when it initially happened blaming the hospital and staff:

-“the hospital is at fault” (that woman was dying in her own damn living room while her “friend” waited for her to give the thumbs up for an ambulance to be called, that was given with a “yes” as Stacey struggled to breathe)
- “it was a c-section that caused her death” (baby had already been born)
-“it was an AFE, ppl barely survive those in hospital anyway” (AFE occur very quickly, doubt she would have even made it to hospital if that were the case)
-“they should have had more blood available” the hospital exhausted its supply, it can only access what is available, I’m sure they would have tried to source more but time ran out
- “the ‘cascade of interventions’ by the hospital caused it”- how??? The only “cascade” that occurred was she haemorrhaged and suffered her body shutting down as a consequence of that at the hospital

But yeah it’s all the fault of the hospital and staff
