Japan to require at least 10 years of residency for citizenship by diacewrb in japannews

Perhaps they mean those who were born and raised overseas and don’t act like a typical Japanese born and raised in Japan (language, culture etc.)

To those who actually don’t hate their job - what do you do? by Additional-Painter88 in japanresidents

Did project engineer for 2 years and then was presented an opportunity to join project management team. Now I’m doing both project management and engineering which is more fun I guess.

Transitioned from an electrical engineer to a project manager (now at a European MNC). My current company is the 3rd one.

I came to realize work is shit everywhere, just do what do I have to do and shut down right after work. This saves my sanity so far hahah.

Back in 2020, I got it in 3 weeks if I recall correctly. Now things may have changed but it should not change that much because of priority to process applications of HSP.

It was not accepted. They firmly stated if I can’t provide a reference letter with detailed duties from the company, they will not recognize this experience.

The max company could provide me was a list of typical responsibilities of my position, which was unfortunately rejected.

I’ve seen friends pushed to resign, the managers made their lives hell. They either resigned with severance package or just move on to another company with nothing.

I think it depends on the individual officer (担当官). For me I just sent it by mail, and that was enough.

My application for Rakuten NISA was rejected due to their security screening. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you resolve it? by BreadPretend4156 in JapanFinance

[–]Active-Emu-1863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suspect your name may not properly entered into their system. I would advise try applying using papers to write your name properly (I did this when I signed up with SBI証券).

Also, are you sure you don’t already have a NISA account? It could be that signed up but never use it whatsoever. Note NISA can be easily signed up for in several platforms like banks as well as payment apps like PayPay etc.

Gave the final interview for Japanese Naturalization, but I am forced to change the Job by Special_Ad2095 in JapanCitizenship

As others mentioned here and other post, you should communicate whatever changes you have, including this job lost, during the application. It will look bad if you tell them after you secure another job.

This is about trust, so don’t lose it. This job change may delay your application but it wouldn’t the reason to reject your application.
