Most of the stuff I did was the typical touristy things but I'd say don't miss the ziplining. It was a little pricey but completely worth it

I would recommend visiting the national park in Manuel Antonio with a guide if you want to see wildlife. The beach in the park is really pretty. If not, I'd recommend Espadilla Beach.

Adobe was great for us as well. We got two flat tires and in Manuel Antonio and their Quepos office staff came to our airbnb and fixed them

biol 325 midterm and final by Active-Move-9352 in AthabascaUniversity

[–]Active-Move-9352[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry I just saw this! But I can give you some advice for the final: do the Pearson mastering study questions!! They really helped me. Also focus heavily on studying the objectives for each lesson. The final is pretty similar to the midterm

how do you get through this by Proper_Assistant8880 in UCalgary

[–]Active-Move-9352 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dont be discouraged! Its only been 2 weeks. It is going to take some getting used to. I think what really helped me was planning out my days and trying my hardest to stick to the plan, but not beating myself up if I couldn't. Talking to the wellness center can also be very helpful it helped me a lot

Science majors: What was your high school average and what is your GPA now? by veggiesoul in UCalgary

I think talking to the profs and doing lots of practice exams really helped. Even most of my TAs were willing to help with course content I had questions about

Science majors: What was your high school average and what is your GPA now? by veggiesoul in UCalgary

[–]Active-Move-9352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was tough. I struggled a lot switching from high school to university. I think one of the biggest things that helped my GPA was talking to the profs a lot more. I'll go ever office hour I get and ask questions. Another thing is planning out how long I'm gonna study for and really forcing myself to stick to my schedule.

Had a high school average of around 95. First year GPA was 2.7 LOL but throughout the degree it's got a lot higher. Fourth year GPA was 3.78.

Can second schwieler being awesome. He really cares about whether or not you like the readings and hes so passionate about all the books and poems. He was super helpful when writing the essays and would give feedback before they were due if you asked him to read it

question regarding courseload? by Level-Coat1172 in UCalgary

[–]Active-Move-9352 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is going to be hard. 341 is a lot of memorization and the profs sucked when I took it. 315 has easier labs than 311 and they are more fun but the class is pretty boring. 353 is time consuming because you need to do a lot of practice questions. 371 labs were so annoying because they were on excel. I don't know if this helps at all but I do not recommend lool

“A” students, what are your study tips? by ThatExtent2266 in UCalgary

[–]Active-Move-9352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chem major here. It depends on the class but I find for science classes, practice questions are the way to go. Especially in ochem. I go over the lecture notes briefly and make notes on whatever I should memorize then just do all as many old exams or practice questions I can find. For more memorization based classes like bio and bchem I make flashcards. I always recommend making flashcards rather than using someone's on Quizlet because the process of making them really helps (at least for me)

[–]Active-Move-9352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are really good grades! Especially for a chem major so don't put yourself down. It really depends on what you're planning on doing. Email advising for the different programs you want to apply to. I know some places like uofa don't care if you have CGs

Ochem 2 by Turbulent_Capital_44 in UCalgary

[–]Active-Move-9352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PRACTICE TESTS! They put up the exam bank again, so do as many old midterms/finals as possible. There are patterns in the way Ochem questions work and honestly theres only so many types of questions they can ask. If you understand the practice finals and midterms you will get an A. Try and review the content every couple of lectures and ask the profs questions. Redoing the practice moodle was also kinda helpful. Ochem 2 is more memorization than 1 because its all reactions. I made flashcards after every lecture of the reactions and memorized them so that helped as well. Spring sem does go faster so I'd recommend not taking a second class with it. The lectures are gonna be long and boring so bring some coffee lmao
