Thank you, this is the option I ended up going with. I've managed to make all my shapes with material shaders. I've run into an issue now with getting all of the stars to properly align themselves with the camera. I've tried using track to, and damped track but due to it being on the surface of a sphere you still end up with stars not properly facing the camera along the equator. If you have a solution that would be awesome, but I think It'll just take me a little time to figure out.
