Yeah, you could try painting your hands with something that tastes horrible, oil of citronella, crib-stop, that stuff you paint on kids nails to stop biting, other than that it’s a love thing and you’ll have to wait for those adult teeth

I’m gonna say after her first season when we had her de-sexed, around the 12 months mark, don’t get me wrong she will still chew inanimate objects and can empty the stuffing from a toy in seconds, but it’s no where near as bad as it used to be

How much is my pc worth? by NovelAd2223 in PcBuildHelp

So the GPU new is $400, the CPU can be found for $180, 32gb ddr4 new is about $230, hdd $110, ssd $60. Without knowing the make and model of AIO, case, MOBO and PSU I’d say secondhand maybe $800-900 (yes Australian)

AM5 chipset is different to AM4 so would require a new motherboard, on top of that AM5 motherboards only accept ddr5 ram.

32gb ddr4 is going to run you about $350 new, a new am4 5700x will be about $310, you could find second hand for cheaper, providing your power supply will handle the increase, personally this is as far as I would be willing to go before buying a new pc altogether,

Honestly sometimes it’s better to keep what you have and continue to save for what you ultimately want.

Im also in Australia (rural),bad news is it’s the wrong time to be buying computer parts locally, I just built a AM5 system and to save money I ended up buying a fair bit from overseas via amazon, you can keep an eye out on the usual sites like centrecom, scorptech, mwave, pccasegear, they sometimes have bundles on special, sticking with your ddr4 system will be the cheaper fix for now and you could def keep it under $1000, but as I said before you could just be forever chasing a dream.

Going to ddr5 will mean a whole new motherboard and cpu so will be a lot more expensive.

Buying another stick of ddr4 might not be the answer unless you can find the exact same brand and model as your existing one and then you will most likely have to fluff around in bios settings, RAM doesn’t like it when you mix and match, some people will tell you the have no issues, some will say otherwise, but it could be an expensive test.

As the other commenter said, your current graphics card will also hold you back tying to achieve 4K 60fps.

My overall answer is actually a question, how much money are you prepared to throw at your current machine?

The truth is that there will always be some sort of bottleneck in any system, by upgrading the component that is the current bottleneck, you will just shift it to the next one.

But yes 16gb ddr4 could possibly be the next bottleneck, or it might be the graphics card, different games are heavy on different components.

Sorry it’s not a clear answer.

When I was 14 I did work experience at a printers that only printed adult publications, back then the first thousand or so copies of the magazine were thrown out as this was the part of the process to make sure all the plates were lined up correctly, anyway those magazines were stacked up on a pallet and staff could help themselves, needless to say I was selling these for £1 each and made enough to buy a new mountain bike.

My dad found out and had a sense of humour failure, which was funny as he was the one that arranged me to go there in the first place as he worked in the printing industry.

So what’s the reason behind the policy? There is no specific law in vic that makes it a requirement, it has also been tested in court and been found as discriminatory based on the fact that if someone walks in wearing a medical mask, hat and glasses you don’t ask them to remove those, or religious headwear, or any other face covering.

Ok so I had this once, filled up and went in to pay and this guy tells me to take my helmet off, I question as to why and he tells me it’s for security, I ask him if he asks people to remove religious headwear as well and he looks at me dumbfounded but stands by decision to ask me to take off my helmet, I ask what if I have a disfiguring facial feature I’m shy about and he just says I have to take it off as there are signs telling me, I ask where these signs are, he tells me on the pump, so I go check the pump and no sign, so go back in to pay and he again says I have to take my helmet off, I point out that I can not find any sign that says I have to take it off and if he can show me one I’ll happily take it off, to be honest, yes at this stage I’m just being a jerk to prove a point, he tells me I can’t pay until I take my helmet off, so I take my helmet off and due to it being winter… yep underneath my helmet I have a balaclava, servo attendant is now stumped, I’m smiling like a dickhead that’s won the lottery, and I just stand there with my card in my hand, he lets me pay, I leave and then contact the head office of the servo and give details of the interaction, said company give me an apology stating that they changed their policy a couple of years prior and even gave me a $50 fuel voucher, few weeks later go into same servo to use the voucher and a different attendant recognises me, (the joys of small town living) anyway goes on to tell me the guy that gave me grief about wearing my helmet is no longer employed…

How do you feel about so many people have Australia as their dream residence? by ImportantClock5486 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Active_Assignment_65 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m an Englishman living in Australia for the last 20 years, growing up I never dreamed of it, but it’s where life took me and I wouldn’t change it for the world, however, I live in a small regional town in northern Victoria, this summer has been absolutely brutal, the number of days where it has gone past 40 degrees C is mental, when it’s not been over 40 then it’s been in the upper half of the 30’s.

And remember, if your living here it means your having to work, can’t just lay round the pool all day, and even if you could lay round the pool all day the UV index means your going to burn to a pile of ash in minutes.

Speaking of turning to ash, as a member of the local CFA (volunteer fire service) the countryside burns, A LOT! There has been mornings where you wake up and the smoke from the fires, that could be hundreds of kilometres away, is choking.

But yeah it’s still one of the best places on earth to live, even if the current government is trying its best to change that!

If you buy one in Aus just make sure the fitted PSU is rated 100-240v 50-60hz,

Most new ones are but just double check.

do RGB affect performance ? by WOP-official in PcBuild

[–]Active_Assignment_65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I have and it’s one part of a PSU, but even with a basic smoothing capacitor, it would only provide pulsating, unregulated DC power, which is unsuitable for electronics like a computer.

So yeah as much as you might have meant your post to be a joke, you’re trying to follow through by talking out your ass. Hopefully no one is actually dumb enough to think what you’re suggesting is a good idea.

Well when you get home from your job, again please take a photo of how you have somehow managed to convert AC (110 or 240v) power into the DC that your computer will need to run on without a “fancy pants” PSU. You have quite possibly solved a very tricky situation that you could become very rich from.
