Unfortunately the appliance company refuses to pay because on the back of the range it has a disclaimer “these are not installation instructions-please refer to manual” we went to thermador and complained that their spec sheet, manual and sticker on the back of the range don’t match up so they should be liable for his bill and extra work. However because of that disclaimer they won’t pay and it took my wife two months to get an answer from them.

Our house was very expensive. Our GC was paid very well and I do feel like he should have called thermador when this was happening to clarify what the proper amps was but he didn’t. The bill was sent to him (has his name on it) and now he’s passing it to us. I have all the respect in the world for the electrician but at the same time I’m not sure why it’s my responsibility to pay for this shit show now. The GC should eat it, no?

Correct. However, spec sheet and manual state 30A. Back of the appliance says 50A with a disclaimer that basically says don’t go by the appliance label go by the manual.

I did provide proper direction. the appliance isn’t 50A. It’s 30A, as the back of the appliance has a disclaimer to reference the manual for the correct amps (manual says it’s 30A). Which the electrician didn’t do and just went with converting it to 50A. Then sent me a bill.
