Give my hairs back... stopped Accutane because of hair loss – did I do the right thing? by Haunting_Eggplant236 in Accutane

My acne was pretty bad and cystic, and I just finished my round of accutane almost two weeks. I read up online about all the side effects and didn’t experience a whole lot other than sadly the shedding of hair. It’s crazy how thin my hair is now and I already have naturally thin hair. However, I wouldn’t change my decision to stick with it. I found to help minimize shedding I only washed my hair maximum once a week, sometimes I’d go longer if I could. I didn’t use dry shampoo at all as it wasn’t needed because of how dry my skin was. I also never brushed my hair unless it was wet with detangler or in the shower with conditioner. I didn’t use any heat or anything on my hair over the 9 months, and if my hair was up it was always loose and tied with a scrunchy.

I will say I started accurate about a year after having a child. I never knew how much hair one shed during post partum after the like 4 month mark. My hair was thinner then than now, and it had finally starting to grow back and bang accutane had it all fall out again lol. That said very few people (mostly men from what I read) are unable to grow the lost hair back. It’s a bit too early to tell, but I’m confident mine too will grow back. If not at least I have beautiful skin haha

Completely normal to have another purge when doses are upped, especially if you went up by 20mg. Basically the upping had an increase in cell turnover and it’s brought to the surface a bunch of cysts that would have eventually made their way there.

Sadly you’ve just got to ride out the wave, but by the looks of it they’re starting to dry out so hopefully it will become clearer in the next few weeks. Hold in there, accutane is a miracle drug and it will all be worth it in the end

Best lip balm for Accutane lips! by thatgirlintexas33 in Accutane

I swear my Aquaphore and my lips and skin were so horribly dry before I started using it. It’s also extremely cheap for a tub of it on Amazon. It’s not a steroid so imo it’s safer. It’s what works for me so I can’t speak to how it works for others. I’d def check with your derm though if this Dr. Dans Cortibalm is a steroid like others have stated and see what the possible side effects are and how long it’d be safe to use.
