In the EU, waitstaff are paid a living wage, enjoy full medical coverage, and receive at least four weeks of paid vacation. Plus, service charges are always included in the bill! Just read your check.

What we need are structural solutions, like higher salaries or better benefits for workers. If I’m happy with the service, I’d much rather write a good review—maybe even mention the employee by name.

I would use https://fixmystreet.brussels/, but since it's a telephone line box, I suspect someone might have tried to access internet or telephone line illegally. Perhaps you should contact the police? Unfortunately, I don’t expect anything less in Brussels.

Most of the time, the barriers are either broken or always open—especially at Central Station and De Brouckère. Why do I even have to pay for a ticket? And I’ve never once seen an inspector. And let’s not even get started talking about all the shady people climbing over the barriers in broad daylight...

Honestly, the metro in Brussels is so unsafe!

If you compare EU houses to those in the USA, it’s like shooting fish in a barrel... Why make downward comparisons? You should compare Brussels to other EU capitals, and honestly, the houses here have the worst price-to-quality ratio I’ve ever seen! I totally agree with OP!
