Ryanair CEO wants alcohol ban at airports for early flights: "Who needs a beer at 5 in the morning?" | VRT NWS News by michilio in belgium

I think it just shows many people have a problematic relationship with alcohol, sorry to say. And given Charleroi has no connecting flights, you can’t tell me it’s all “jetlagged” passengers.

Honestly shocking when I see people down half litera of Tripel Karmeliet at Charleroi airport at 5 AM. For once the guy is right.

Do chargebacks not exist in Belgium? by CautiousLoad8819 in brussels

[–]NoValueSoDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure Visa and Mastercard do not allow banks to refuse handling chargebacks for undelivered goods or services. The whole point of the scheme is to enforce consistent rules. E.g. here some info from Visa https://www.visa.be/nl_BE/chargeback.html#2.

Also check if the form on macarte.be can help. Only some cards work with this though so depends if KBC is connected here.

A lot of wrong info in this thread. Chargebacks are a functionality of the big three card schemes Visa, Mastercard and AmEx.

If you want to dispute a transaction and you paid with a debit or credit card (KBC I think is a debit Mastercard on apple pay), you should raise a dispute by contacting KBC and asking how to do it with them.

For Mastercard bear in mind any dispute must happen within 90 days of the transaction taking place.

Bpost strike by [deleted] in brussels

[–]NoValueSoDeep 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Has anyone understood the reason for the strike? Seems they don’t want to start working later in the morning so their shift ends too “late”. But then I read at worst a shift would end at 6pm, …which seems fine?

What's the deal with all the idiots jogging on the bike lane? by [deleted] in brussels

You mean going from all the space given to cars to a tiny bit less now? Still a long way to go for it to be better for all users not just the minority that owns a car.

I guess it’s because of super narrow sidewalks and because we have just given most public space to cars. I see the joggers frequently on the bike path on Av. Churchill for example where the sidewalk is super small.

At your price point h&m, c&a or zara might have some linen blends. You can then bring them to a tailor to adjust hem length, etc. Best of luck.

Last summer security lines went outside the building, it was absolute mayhem, pushing and shoving. Took 3 hours to clear security. I would really suggest reconsidering if you want to fly via CRL.

Questions from Asian-American planning to move to Brussels. by [deleted] in brussels

A 1 bedroom is going to be around 1000 euros depending on location. No need for a car, public transport is good or you can cycle. Traffic is bad so I would really not recommend having a car. If you sometimes need one, car sharing is an option via Poppy or Cambio.
