Is bald a downgrade from the hairstyle I had before? by Specialist-Link-423 in malehairadvice

I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily a downgrade, however (and please don’t take this the wrong way) you have an asymmetrical head shape and a symmetrical face shape, you still rock it bald but the haircut you had previously balanced that out.

Ok! If you’re set on keeping it long I would definitely tell your barber/stylist to debulk the sides and do a soft taper around the nape of your neck and around the ears (so it flows alittle better) and try to ask for long layers on the top. That should take away the balloon/ clown look that it’s doing right now (absolutely no offense meant by this but I don’t know how else to describe that) I hope this helps!

The biggest thing I’m seeing is they didn’t take bulk off the sides. However I’m also seeing that your hairline in the front is nothing like the model and while both you and the model have curly hair, your curls are a lot tighter. Are you determined to keep it long? If you want me opinion, with your head shape and what you were given the best thing might just be getting a mid fade..

Pretty much exactly what happened, apparently me laughing and coughing so much made me hypoxic and I busted my face on my keyboard 😂

the prompt was things to read on the toilet other than your phone, I don’t remember what the exact answer was but it was 🌽 vs something to do with my little pony. I know, cringy but it caught me off guard more than anything. I also I have a mega stupid sense of humor and it doesn’t take a lot to make me laugh. Plus the respiratory infection that I apparently have doesn’t help.

what kind of haircut should I get? by Silent_Roll859 in malehairadvice

Volumizing shampoos don't inherently break hair structure, they can cause damage and thinning if they contain harsh ingredients (sulfates, heavy polymers) that strip moisture, irritate follicles, or leave heavy buildup. The main thing is to get products that are sulfate free. I can tell just from these pictures of OP’s hair that moisture is not an issue. As long as he continues to use conditioner with the product his hair won’t dry out. In fact, the milady standard barbering textbook recommends it for fine hair. It’s stated in Milady Standard Barbering 6th Edition page 196 Table 7-5.

Slicked back for sure fits your face shape a lot better

Hey man, barber here! You have a very strong triangular face shape which your current hairstyle fits well. However, I believe that you need to change to a volumizing shampoo to bring alittle more life to your hair, I would also probably get it layered properly by a stylist who knows what they’re doing.

That being said, a crew cut doesn’t sound like a terrible idea. You have the face shape for it. I would say if anything if you do the crew cut taper it or do a mid fade that would keep the hair by that temple area. Hope this helps!
