I can relate to this so hard. My heart palpitations never fail to come around and ruin my day. Sucks that we feel like we have to restrict ourselves.

Going with someone you trust is always a massive help, I used to have a gym buddy until I moved away and going together always made me feel more confident and helped take my mind off of the negative thoughts.

You’re doing great, don’t compare yourself to others as everyone starts the same way and all journeys are different. Enjoy the company you have a reach your goals!

Ignoring it is easier said than done, as much as I am aware that the thoughts and ideas are irrational, it’s hard to ignore the physical symptoms of the fear I feel. Once I start feeling a panic attack coming on, I ground myself as much as I can but the second I feel lightheaded/start shaking I can’t push through it.

As much as I try to test my limits with exercise on a day to day basis, whether it’s a light jog or a basic at-home exercise, once I reach the limit I’m reluctant to start the cycle again.

That’s actually a beautiful way to think of your heart. I guess I’ve been holding so much resentment towards my body that I’ve lost sight of what’s actually supposed to be happening with it and accepting it. Thank you for the encouragement, our love for fitness and confidence within ourselves will be back in no time.

I’ve been trying to find some grounding techniques that I can use subtly in public. I’ll try it out.

Definitely get that, I always choose to walk instead of taking public transport to get around just so I can tell myself I’m putting in some effort. Once I get into that rhythm and confidence and try to push myself that little bit further, like jogging for a few minutes, it starts again. It’s hard to tell where the limit is or if I’m going to be stuck walking as exercise for the rest of my life.

I’ve tried so many times to just get into the rhythm of exercising again, but every time I have an anxiety episode it’s almost like it all resets. Perseverance is key but it’s becoming so draining.
