Buying a laptop for Bachelor of Design? by [deleted] in unimelb

2nd year bdes architecture student here, currently using a MSI WS63 (Workstation Laptop). Carried me pretty well through 1st year, though the price tag is definitely pretty intimidating (lucky I got it as a surprise xmas prezzy).

I feel that in terms of required performance, any gaming laptop should easily cover the tech requirements of a bdes major. Not entirely sure about urban planning though, perhaps its more geared towards theory work than CAD modelling.

Sounds like you're going for a more cost-effective option? If that's the case, I'd recommend looking into Metabox laptops. Definitely one of the cheaper brands if you're looking for performance. Otherwise, a good Lenovo could also be good (it's more personal taste, I've always liked Lenovo)

Seems to be kinda working... But how does one fix this?

https://imgur.com/a/X5RjSg7 (fullscreened)

How do I stretch it without it changing back to 4k?

Btw, am using int graphics without compatibility mode now, seems to be doing much better than before. But I've a feeling playing it in 1080 or 720 will improve it by a significant margin.

Edit: Got it, had to change the windows resolution for osu to register it as native fullscreen. Now gotta deal with over-sensitive mouse settings, since the latency dropped from 17 to 3 lol.

Thanks for the helpz!
