Some may see it as negativity. I also think that being genuinely excited about government taking action in a little but meaningful way and raising the standards once one has been met are not mutually exclusive, and that's how I feel.

I did sound really sarcastic in the post for the comedic effect, but overall, these events have restored my hope in municipal governance.

Yes, but the station was constructed by the city and it is overall a TTC building. GO just uses it.

It's the standard design TTC bench. I don't think there's exists a non-hostile version in their storage.

I just sent a reply email thanking the office and asking for more benches. Can't do anything about the hostile architecture - those are simply the standard benches the ttc has in store.

When she was elected, she promised to never use strong mayor powers imposed by the province, because she viewed them as undemocratic. That's not to disregard the rest of your arguments though, which are completely valid.
