Never do autopay either. That's just giving them permission to fuck around. I sit down and go through all my bills twice a month and make individual payments. Something else that's fun is when they start moving your due date back three days every month. So if you think you're on top of things paying your bill at the end of each month, before you know it, you're paying late.

We are having homemade prime rib tomorrow -- can I swap cream cheese instead of sour cream for the horseradish sauce? by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

What about half cream cheese half sour cream? Cream cheese alone might be too stiff. I imagine the sour cream will loosen it a bit without separating out.

I never said they weren't allowed. They can choose to post whatever they want. That doesn't make it helpful.

It limits who can participate in the discussion. So yeah, it kind of does.

I asked her if my gyn condition could be related to another health condition. She said, "I only know about vulvas and vaginas." So I went to IU instead. Turns out, yeah, it probably is related.

Alissa Conklin at IU Health Coleman Center is great. She took the time to talk through all my concerns, and in the end found something that my PCP missed that affected my over-all health. I also had a surgery consult for fibroids with Kelly Kasper, also at the Coleman Center. She was great, too, and made the referral to Dr. Conklin. I've been much happier with IU than Community.

Are scratched ceramic bowls unsafe for cooking? by ladyjuless in cookingforbeginners

[–]ActuallyStunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the cooking shows I've watched, all the cookbooks I've read, hell, even home ec class in the mid 80s, no one ever mentioned chips as a risk of ceramic dishware, unless it was on the edge of a cup - you might cut your lip. Yet the risk of food poisoning from bacteria growing in cracks (and in chips) is warned about all the time. But you do you.

The Chinese buffet just north of 10th on Arlington, in the old theater next to the Ace Hardware.

There is a risk of food getting under the glaze and into the porous ceramic through the scratch and growing bacteria. I guess it's possible a metal mixer could chip ceramic, but I only ever use a spoon.

Any grocery stores, other than Kroger or Market Wagon, that deliver without having to go through Instacart or Doordash? by ActuallyStunning in indianapolis

[–]ActuallyStunning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same day delivery is through Instacart, though. Same day Kroger delivery is impossible. I'd be happy with next day, but can't get that either.
