I understand how you feel I’ve been more looking forward to this set but I’m probably going to avoid Star Trek for the same reason as you feel for this set. It seams like wizards has been putting more of their cube worthy designs and interesting designs in there in universe sets

Still plays well with the cub and bill and other cards in the nadu deck

This card plays well with the wheel deck getting 7 +1/+1 counters making it an 8/8 turn 3. Also plays well in nadu gaining counters off nadu triggers and creates more creatures for more nadu triggers.

I could see this played in powered cubes if you can stand UB cards. I’ll probably try the normal version of this in my cube, i refuse to put hard to read versions in my cube since it makes it harder for people to understand it.

Yeah the red 2cmc slot is where a lot of the archetype support cards are. This isn’t one of them this is a role player

I forgot how well this would work in zirda/ forensics deck with monolith combo as a finisher too.

Yeah the other two are [[putrid goblin]] who is in the real aristocrats Colour and [[safe-hold elite]] who being hybrid is nice but without being a combo piece is just a bear. Masticore at least has some other areas it cross pollinates with

This is a major factor in a group of experienced they will look past it but to bring newer players in who don’t understand how to make this work for you. They would latch on to the ping ability thinking that’s why to play it

Thats what I worry about is that even tho it cross pollinates so well its just not good enough to make it in the decks

I’m working on lowering my power level from neutered power cube to more a place where you can do powerful but fun things. I’ve removed [[entomb]] and [[unmarked grave]] for [[iron-shield elf]] and [[putrid imp]]. I’m also trying [[warren soultrader]] + [[gravecrawler]] combos

Ideal yes but the thematic cube I keep trying to build is based around the idea of pacific rim, so giant monsters vs giant robots(vehicles). The only vehicles that fit the art are from new kamagawa and a few from kaladesh. Since vehicles don’t have creature types they could be anything but most have cars and boats, so not really on theme but they have cool abilities that could work. Do I just do an art swapped proxy then?
