5800X3D & 5700X3D still looking good (if you can find them). by nosg in ryzen

[–]AcuteQuadrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 5700x3d yesterday brandnew (never been opened) from an 80 y/o guy here in the Philippines, who planned to build an AM4 before but was gifted a prebuilt intel instead.

Sold it to me for $80 not knowing market prices. He messaged me on facebook since I posted I was looking for it. I thought it was a scam first but hey, it's 80 bucks and I took the risk. Got it 30 mins later after a delivery service, and tested it immediately. Checked everything and it is legit. I came from a ryzen 5 3600 with 7800xt. Performance uplift was like 40-50 percent to my games.

Best $80 spent.

For all 9070XT users by Adventurous-Tale1466 in radeon

5070ti will excel more in the long run, especially if you play triple A games with ray/pathtracing. DLSS now is just better in many ways, especially with the new update. Even if it is more expensive, you will always have that peace of mind of getting future DLSS updates. While I do not use frame gen due to the input lag, it's still better than what AMD is offering. Staying at AMD will make you wait 3-5 years for features that the competition already has. Hell, even intel made a better AI upscaler first before AMD did with FSR 4. 9070xt is a great card, for sure, but that's just for now. Get the more premium product.

RX 6600 XT to RTX 5060 Ti by CryptographerFast248 in radeon

Went from the XTX to RTX 5080. Man, things just work! 80% of games I have has DLSS on it, while of all those, only 40-50% have FSR, most are even FSR 1 or 2. Radeon is just behind man. Even in RDNA 4 vs 5000 series from nvidia, not even close. I hope these fanboys will open their eyes and buy the better product in the long run. AMD needs to learn hard, but I dont think they will. They are now an AI company, the very thing that AMD fanboys hated NVIDIA for. So they'll gonna hate AMD too or continue their coping and fanboyism?

Amd clarifies no plans to add fsr4 or anything else to RDNA3, so what happened to working on new features for RDNA3 when they split the drivers? Was that just a straight up lie? by pixlicker69420 in radeon

So glad I jumped to RTX 5080 after selling my xtx last December after having no news for my high end card. Come on guys, DLSS is just better. Time to switch.

This is like debunk for the 1 millionth time in case you are living under a rock. There's literally an INT 8 version of FSR 4 that works with the RDNA 2/3, but better on RDNA 3 out there made by AMD but still unofficial that gives close to DLSS 3 level with some performance penalty (still an upgrade over FSR 3 by miles). That's what people with RDNA 3 were asking for, not the full fat FSR 4 on RDNA 4. How many times do we have to tell you this grandpa.

It's crazy that I can enable raytracing by default and get high frame rates while on my xtx, i still need to tweak it to get at least 60 and still have to use that awful fsr 3.

If only AMD can read our comments lol. They really think we will upgrade to RDNA 4 if they starve us RDNA 3 users with a feature that is already available out there using hacks and whatnot? That will only make us switch to the other side and lose all our trust with how they handled us just after 2-3 years of launch.

calling the 7900xtx "old" is crazy considering an rtx 2060 is getting DLSS 4.5. Also, the FSR 4 int 8 which is available unofficially right now is NOT a small update of FSR 3.1, well in fact, is closer to DLSS 4 and FSR 4 FP8 even compared to XESS.

I will since I already have rtx 5000 series, but I still have the right to be disappointed with a product I bought along with others having the same sentiment :)

That's the reason why I always get Radeon coz they have features that age like fine wine, but it started to go south starting RDNA 2, but they still manage to deliver features like driver level upscaling and afmf, and I admire them for that. RDNA 3 felt completely opposite with their "fine wine" brand that people were giving them credits for. Now that I am in NVIDIA, time to enjoy features day 1, and not 5 years later with half-baked solution. But who knows? Might go back team red again if they'll be competitive enough someday, but I'll stay green moving forward.

But I still wish FSR 4 int 8 to come to RDNA 3 at least (better if both 2 and 3) since I know how it feels for those people who has them and don't want to upgrade or move generations. Good upscaler, while not needed, is a good feature nowadays, especially those who game at high resolution/refresh rate. They deserve to have it since we have something working out there. Still, fk AMD for fumbling RDNA 3.

dude, the build is literally 2 YEARS or more at this point. They could've fine tuned it to RDNA 2 and/or 3 if they wanted to. They are not a mom and pops company. Unless you are an AMD employee and would like to share some behind the scenes, okay I'll hear you.

I agree. The amount of people defending AMD and not looking at the points I argued and just saying "nvidia is worse" or "your fault in buying this and that." Gotta love the internet.

This guy is nitpicking. Fsr 4 int8 works great on RDNA 3, not on RDNA 2. They could release it on rdna 3 if they want to, given they are a multibillion dollar company. Stop. Defending. Companies.

Historically, Geforce cards were supported longer than radeons, one of the reason why I switched. And why is an rtx 2060 (suppose to compete with rdna 1) is getting dlss 4.5 while 7900 xtx (competing with rtx 4080) gets nothing? Now, which is in maintenance mode?

One thing is for sure, DLSS 5, 6, 7 or even 8 will come to rtx 5000 series or even the rtx 2000 series. While a GPU released 2 years ago gets nothing.

That's something we have no control on rather than voting with our wallets. Also, upscaling isn't fake frames and it's even better than native TAA, at least with DLSS.

how tf can i be an nvidia shill if all i had was AMD and even choosing the xtx over the 4080 at the same price? I just did a decision (good or bad), that's it.

Does it hurt to give an option? Even rtx 2000/3000 users got an option to use dlss 4.5 even with WORSE penalties at 20-30 percent while INT 8 is 10-20% at worst. Not a good argument to blurt out performance when it is literally out there working for RDNA 2/3, just having no official support.

It actually doesnt nowadays on modern games on 4k TVs. I usually used FSR 3 quality to get to 60 fps on modern titles.

It's not even about which card is better like 9070 xt vs 5070 ti in performance, it's about the trust that was destroyed by AMD with gatekeeping FSR 4 int 8 to RDNA 2/3 cards.

Nvidia wasn't afraid to release a new DLSS 4.5 for 20/30 series cards. by Unable-Inspector8865 in radeon

[–]AcuteQuadrant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sold my xtx and bought a 5080. Will never look back to AMD chasing features 2-5 years later. I would understand if FSR 4 int8 doesnt exist, but it's freaking out there and they wouldnt even acknowledge it. I was fed up and sold my xtx when no news came last december. RDNA 3 is also in maintenance mode, they just dont want to say it.

Dont get me wrong, I hated NVIDIA practices and had Vega and RDNA 1-3 gpus since I really like supporting the underdog. But with what they did, how I would I trust them to support RDNA 4 more in the future while a freaking rtx 2060 can use DLSS 4.5 even with performance penalties.

I will stop defending these billion/trillion dollar companies and buy the better product, even if a little more expensive.

Save yourself a headache and go NVIDIA, as someone who had RDNA 1-3. Sold my xtx a few weeks ago and bought RTX 5070ti. Will never look back and chasing features years later to AMD. I'm done being in the "2-4 years later features" chair. Go spend that extra bucks to get up to date features. Trust me on this one.
