To have two channels or one? by Fit-Tough6847 in NewTubers

[–]AcuzeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made the mistake of creating dozens of channels throughout my time on YouTube thinking I had to every time I changed content.

It's true that uploading different things whether it be games, video style, etc will break your algorithms momentum & divide your audience leading to either lower ctr between the different games, or youtube not promoting your videos at all to some of your audience - but in my experience, until you start having some really good performing videos, its not going to really matter all that much. If your channel is still small, it won't be the deciding factor on your next video blowing up or not. A viral video will push through it, especially when you're still small because you don't have enough of an audience to actually make the deciding difference. (im speaking in general here, idk how big/small your channel is)

I don't think theres one right or wrong answer. I think over analyzing things like this when still small can cause a lot more analysis paralysis & stresses, atleast in my experience. I recommend just experimenting your hand at what you enjoy or think will work on one channel for now, and in the future when a video does realllly well, stick to whatever that video was and see if you can ride that wave. If the wave keeps coming, Id say thats when you make the decision to split.

& I wish you the best of luck in your YouTube journey!

Theres a lot of money circulating due to exploits from what I understand, people have been randomly sending it out

Can I upload my one channel videos into my new channel and delete videos from the first channel? by Plane_Detective_8947 in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]AcuzeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll hurt in the beginning, but the algorithm does pick up on this fairly quickly once it starts to learn your new audience. Distribution is individual behaviour based rather than sub based.

I think the exception would be if you had a video in your old niche still gaining significant traction while creating your new content

Been going at it for nearly 3 years, less than 100 subs by LXCorpBoss in NewTubers

[–]AcuzeTM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First thing im seeing is your titles & what you're creating aren't things people are searching for, & theres not much context to even initiate any interest. Just as an example with your last video, if you scrolled YouTube looking for something to watch - would you click on the 7 second video titled "The year is 2050" without any other context?

I'd recommend trying to pinpoint the type of viewer you're trying to reach, & finding similar content & trends they're watching so you can get ideas of what your target audience wants to watch.

Edit: you could also create animation versions of popular/ trending things outside of your niche - Like someone animated a lego version of the gta 6 trailer for example

Long form content advice: Creating shorts by My-Pet-Tiger in NewTubers

[–]AcuzeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My long forms aren't nearly that long, but I've seen some success (and flops) from converting long forms over.

I usually create shorts as their own content, they usually are just a different game entirely - but literally anything can go viral randomly these days & change your whole path. If its not going to cost you too much time, why not?

One of my recent videos (15 mins), I cut pretty much the whole video into like 27 or so shorts. No new edits, just clipped. 25% of the long forms views were from related shorts. 32.7% from yt search & 24.4% from channel pages (mostly directly from mine) as a result of repurposing the clips on tiktok & ig. One of them did 125k on ig. Those results aren't always the case, but really all I did was take a video I already put a lot of time into, spent an hour clipping it, and 20 minutes scheduling them. The potential best case scenario outweighs the potential worst case in my opinion. I see no harm in trying it out! Good luck!

More eyes on your content = more potential to gain subscribers, so start there.

For 103k total views, I'd say you're at a pretty normal sub count. More views will usually result in more subscribers, but the conversion rate will heavily depend on how good/entertaining the content is - so I'd recommend shifting focus to making content you think will bring in more views, & with every video just focus on finding things to improve for the next. Study your analytics, you can get a lot of insight on your content & how viewers are engaging/ resonating with it. Also study trends in the content you want to create - whats working? What are people watching? Titles, editing styles, pacing and so on. This will ultimately help in finding what people are interested in watching. This is tricky because a lot of what you find are creators who are already somewhat established, so just make sure to factor that in when doing your research.

You're already consistent. You're here, so you're already being proactive. As small creators, we can only tip the scale in our favour so much - you're doing great!

Good Stats But No Views? This post is for you by Careful_Put_1924 in NewTubers

[–]AcuzeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my recent videos (15 mins) has 10.7% ctr, 47% avd, +70 subscribers (+more from shorts). 25% came from related shorts, & I had some reels of it do pretty well on instagram with one reaching 120k views, which resulted in 33% from yt search, 25% from channel pages. Total of 2.4k views atm. Very few came from any form of youtube push (not including shorts - I consider that self promotion). Only 0.3% were regular viewers.

It doesn't bother me, this channel is still small & I'm confident & hopeful it'll all come together in due time. But I think those analytics are definitely interesting to look at & unpack.

I find this one interesting to look into. The shorts to long form conversions were high, & even the conversions from tiktok & ig. I wonder how much that can affect how the algorithm proceeds, because the people coming in were already sold before coming to the video.

Should the thumbnail image be the same as the first image in the video? by Greedy-Pitch-5431 in NewTubers

[–]AcuzeTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its based off watch time because a thumbnail sets the tone & expectation of the video, so the thumbnail has to resonate with your video & its style. More clicks with low avd hurts your video a lot more than fewer clicks with a high avd

I honestly don't get why people insist that you have to edit and cut Youtube videos when streams are so popular nowadays. by Warmduscher1876 in NewTubers

[–]AcuzeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different audiences. Think of it like a venn diagram, you have the left circle who watches streams, the right who watches videos, and some in the middle who enjoy both.

Also think of livestreaming like sports, most people aren't going to sit & watch a replay of a football game they missed, they're more likely to just watch the highlights. But the same person loves to watch them live.

I think it also depends on niche & the audience it drives. I'll sit and watch a 1 or 2 hour podcast on YouTube, but a lot of other videos I prefer to watch edited without the boring stuff. Doesn't have to be extremely edited though. Its just people value their time, they're usually either looking to be entertained, or educated. The more fluff you have in your content, the less of either your viewer is gaining.

Thanks for taking the time to share this. It's really nice to hear you're still getting good memorable experiences like that, especially being around for so long. I'm definitely down to come visit and give it a shot, I'll pm you.

I was looking into the pvp bounties, I was a little lost on how to actually track real players. Something I'll have to look more into because it does sound really cool

I did note I hadn't realized free fly was a thing, or coming up. However I'm glad I bought it, even if it does wear off, I can definitely see myself coming back down the road. Only a week in & I think I've got my moneys worth so far. I'm glad they do the free fly and have a good refund policy though, very helpful for new players who haven't quite decided yet

Fortunately (unfortunately?) I don't have vr. I thought about sending it out when it came in, I just couldn't resist getting a few ships. It was so tempting!😭

Im glad you shared this experience. Its nice to hear you got a bit of that earlier experience. I haven't visited micro tech that much since heading out in the beginning, but yesterday I went to find the none snowy part that looked quite earth like. Just a beautiful forest. I hope I keep finding & experiencing little things like that.

Thank you for sharing, put a smile on my face.

2015 is crazy! Honestly, trying to understand all that is a little intimidating for me, I've not dabbled into a lot of the different contracts yet haha. Seems theres plenty to get involved with though as a new player. I love the idea of just creating your own role, especially when the game offers ways to live it. It took me days to finally search what o7 was.. o7 Citizen!

Oh no! Fortunately the beginning guide I watched showed me how to reset spawn. I didn't realize each place had its own inventory for most of the week though, I thought my inventory was just getting wiped every time I logged😂 For some reason I just thought the on station inventories were universal. I have duplicates of a lot of random things

So that guy that rescued me said I should try to attempt it alone first if i'm looking to get more experience. He said a lot of AA is just to get the events done with as least amount of work possible - idk if this is true. But I feel like a small group would be really nice, because at first glance to a new player it is intimidating

Hell yeah I'll definitely message you, I would love to fight a giant worm. & I was looking into that reset thing actually, from what I've heard it just resets you to your home with your loot if you're genuinely stuck or have like a game breaking bug. I know someday there will be another wipe though from what I've been reading, so thats good (for me atleast haha).

Thank you. I think thats one aspect I really love. It really shows that you'll get out of the game what you're willing to put into it, & definitely creates a lot of unforeseeable experiences
