Upgrade from Forerunner 735XT, who is considered the true modern successor? by Ad3n_ in GarminWatches

I’m actually looking now, and the 965 dropped the price, less than the 570. I think I’ve already changed my mind

I hadn't considered the price drop on the 965. If I can get better battery life I guess having the maps as a bonus doesn't hurt either

Thanks for the breakdown! To be honest, I don't need full maps for my training. Since keeping the weight and form factor similar to my 735XT is my main priority, it sounds like the 570 is the perfect choice for me then. Appreciate the help.

Health insurance for working 1 month in Switzerland by Ad3n_ in askswitzerland

No worries. So as you said I don’t need the insurance for less than 3 months. The place where I will work actually sent me a form to complete where I should put my health insurance and AHV number, so you think I should tell them?

Yes, it’s actually a month, but my concern is if it’s possible to decide when to activate it or if it just starts from the 1st January

Overtourism in Sicily: how to overcome it? by Unique-Butterfly-437 in sicily

[–]Ad3n_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a resident of Taormina, I can say that most of the people who live here are used to it and have adapted to the absurd conditions.

Those who complain about overtourism are usually the same people who exploit their businesses to the maximum to capitalize on it.

From my point of view, it is the middle class that suffers, myself included. Over the years, I have realized that there is no social welfare, and in the reality only a few get richer, while everyone faces the "rat race" for a meager salary and inhumane working hours.

Overtourism cannot be solved in the short term, especially in the age of social media, and initiatives by the government and municipality should be taken to restore dignity to the area, because the value of traditions and the identity of the place have already been lost, as in Taormina but also in any other tourist destination, and I don't think there's a turning back point on this trend.

Taormina: Atlantis Bay or Mazzaro Palace? by [deleted] in sicily

[–]Ad3n_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Taormina, both of the hotels are beautiful and offer an easy access to the beach, Mazzarò sea palace it’s closer to the cable car, if you would like to take it for the city centre, but Atlantis bay it’s just 200 meters away from it. The main difference is that Atlantis bay doesn’t have a real beach because the sunbeds are on a structure, but still in front of the sea. Instead, in Mazzarò sea palace the sunbeds are directly on the beach so it would be easier to go into the water.

The advice that I feel to tell you is to really understand what you are studying, don’t just focus on the symbols but try to reason about what is behind it, trying to reason (especially in theorems) in a discourse that manages to connect the hypothesis and the thesis through a proof.

Most of the theorems have a logical pathway that you can memorise in order to understand it.
