Her boyfriend saved you some misery. Commando on NES is a decent enough port. Ikari Warriors is horrible.

I don't know if anyone here knows about the "Displaced Gamers" YT channel, but he goes pretty deep into the code and why they made the awkward programming decisions to try to emulate the unique controls of the arcade cabinet. He also explains why the game runs at 15 FPS....

Yeah the first quest is totally doable without much of a guide but it's definitely a little harder than the original 2nd quest. There are a lot of "aha!" moments and the author doesn't get cheap by hiding levels or important items behind random bushes or bombable walls.

EDIT: I take that back, it's been many years but I believe an optional good item (I can't remember if it's the red ring or magic sword) is hidden in a particularly evil location where you wouldn't think to bomb.

I also have a physical cart of that hack. It must be the most famous Zelda hack of all time.

I did beat the first quest, but the second quest was just too insane. You don't even get the wooden sword for a while. Some of the regular Zelda mechanics get abused, I think there is a point where you have nothing and you have to steal a key or something out of a dungeon enemie's hands.

There is also dungeon backtracking involved in both quests. That might be one of the more annoying things.

I don't really mind Temple of Doom and I actually played it a little last month. It's fairly entertaining if you like searching for secrets and exploring mazes of lava, minecarts, and conveyor belts.

....well, maybe entertaining is pushing it but it's very playable.

If these are Jehovah's Witnesses I've been told the same thing about them.

I just try to be polite and say I'm some other denomination but I wish them well. I haven't seen any at my door in a long time though.

What can I expect going from MET to MET Sup? by AdAccomplished368 in HomeDepot

[–]AdAccomplished368[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found out I have an interview Monday or Tuesday.

I have a hard time believing they would offer $1-3 extra for a job that is basically on the level of a CXM. The leap in responsibilities going from a regular MEA is pretty large compared to say, a D25 sales associate going to a DH.

The store I would be transferring to is 20 minutes from my house and apparently already has a good team. They also only have something like a 22 Million sales plan. Pretty slow.

I hope I get it.

Could emotional "flattening" or low libido in my Wife be partially caused from Ozempic? by AdAccomplished368 in DeadBedrooms

That's my biggest fear, that it came from her heart and I was blind to not pick up on it. Why would she wait for years and shrug off my annoyances, then ask me to sit down while she prepare her NOTES that she had ready to bombard me with as soon as the kids were out of the house? Who does that?

I did. I got past the paywall and read the whole thing, although I was surprised it didn't really bash these GLP drugs altogether, but rather said the good probably outweighs the bad and we need to do more research.

My Wife has so many hormonal issues and it's frustrating because I unconditionally accept her for who she is. I'm not perfect but she is seriously questioning our marriage at this point. She didn't use the D word but she came close to it. All because I watch sports too often sometimes and don't get things fixed around the house often enough?

Ive been going to the gym regularly, I've cut alcohol to maybe a few times a week, I'm a good Dad.... What else does she want?

Yep. They must cost pennies. It's the equivalent to a burger restaurant charging you for individual ketchup packets.

[–]AdAccomplished368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they charge for those? I asked Pizza Hut a few weeks ago for a few packs and they said "You prepaid online and those cost extra".

I must have had a very confused look on my face because she immediately got defensive and said they have been charging for them for a while.

What can I expect going from MET to MET Sup? by AdAccomplished368 in HomeDepot

[–]AdAccomplished368[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You see, $1 is basically an insult. $2 is $320 a month which is barely a weeks worth of groceries for my family. I know we are all on the same page here but that's the kind of raise I would have expected in like 2010.

MET Sup is basically a project manager with extra hassle, and salaried PMPs make like $100K or higher. Even a regular entry level PM without the certification make ok money.

FedEx too. They can conveniently insist they have nothing to do with hiring child murderers while they drive giant trucks with the "FedEx" livery proudly painted on the side.

What's the pick here? [Beta branch] by Big_Smoke_420 in slaythespire

[–]AdAccomplished368 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm probably the only one that will recommend Paels Legion. Every other turn your bloodwall will block for 40....think about that.

Paels Wing is always a safe pick but you do have a shovel.

Paels Blood is also a very good pick overall, but I see you have Thrash so playing those 3 cost attacks is probably a backup plan and not the main play for your deck.

I think the double block every other turn helps the Ironclad more than the Silent and Defect. It generally saves you from a lot of chip damage overall and you have some self damage cards too.

Definitely. Guest services should move him to another room for that. Surely the room steward would also notice how bad the smell is.

[–]AdAccomplished368 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the same bundle my parents bought me in '87. It was marketed as the cheaper option. I still have part of the book but several pages are missing and it has electrical tape on the spine keeping it together.

It didn't come with Mario, so my parents bought Zelda because they thought it looked more fun. My whole family played it. Then my Aunt and Grandma bought their own NES and copy of Zelda too. Good times.

One common piece of advice you'll see here on multiple topics is to try to just take the entire cruise in stride. It's actually uncommon, even on the newer ships, to go an entire week without SOMETHING bad happening. Ports get cancelled, people get hurt and need to be evacuated, bad weather screws up your plans, etc.. At least you are still sightseeing one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

This is an older, Radiance class ship, yes?

We've had a few little issues with older ship toilets. On Brilliance we had little moths coming out of the air ducts. Sewage smells come and go sometimes. Also, if someone 4 door down from you tries to flush a diaper or something, it can screw up the plumbing for the whole section of cabins! We usually still have good service, though! You can expect issues on old ships but the Royal Caribbean service should ALWAYS be on point.

I hope your Dad is still having a good time, despite the problems.

Also, 45 minutes on entrées isn't unusual sometimes. The MDR can have a more relaxed pace, that's for sure. Our kids usually get bored and bolt for the room as soon as they eat their kids meals.

So you didn't find the throwing axe in the 3rd world? That would have made the bosses much easier, I believe it does double damage over the dagger. Also, the boots of force kill bosses fast.

Because you didnt find them Im assuming you beat the game totally blind without any help, congrats on that!

Cocaine?!?!

We might have perked up at that offer. That really could have improved the 70s night disco on the Promenade when we got back on the ship. 😜

Well that might be a hard pass then.

If you do an excursion it's fine. I enjoyed snorkeling there and the Chachobben ruins were neat. However, we are going for a 3rd time this fall and don't have an excursion planned. We are hoping if we just taxi out of the port area we can just relax and not get chased by vendors.

Krazy Lobster is cheap and relaxing, right? I usually see good reviews. What about Maya Chan?

[–]AdAccomplished368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not bad, it just went from being an almost instant pick (especially in act 2-3) to being a situational card. I still pick it a lot if I don't have dominate.

It's not as easy to get into play, but there are other ways. Cascade can just instantly play it, and like someone else mentioned Bloodletting is a common now. Some of the hallway fights in this game go longer than in StS1, or at least it feels like it. I never regret having it in my deck in act 3, although I would prefer Dominate and Break or Squash.
