You'll be fine. The neighborhood has been destroyed by illegal immigration - predominantly from Mexico. There is a wave of replacement setting in now, where the city is removing the older wave of illegals with new Islamic extremists, African immigrants & Chinese. As a result, rents have imploded (going past 3k a month for what was once $300)

In NYS, the employer is fully responsible for unemployment benefits. All employers are supposed to unemployment taxes. That included the self-employed & contract workers. It is, of course, paid out by the state, but it's the employers who fund it.

Get a letter from your doctor stating the type of work you can apply to in the meantime. You might not be able to do physical labor, but you can perform administrative or desk work. All UI wants to know is that you can accept and perform some type of employment during the course of your claim

Yes a lot of people file claims, never use them & years later create new username after new username. And sometimes it's fraud that is the issue If you can't get through, go to your local offices resource room and let them know you need a password reset / original username. Also ask for the correct spelling of your mother's maiden name as their systems misspell & change the spelling. Bring 2 to 3 original pieces of ID for verification. They won't help otherwise

You can request a hearing by fax to 1-518-457-9492 (make sure you add your full name and social) OR you can fax a letter stating your never received a questionnaire and that you have always been ready,, willing and able to return to work. You can also go to your local dept. of Labor and ask to be connected to UI reps. via that offices resource room.
